Ok…NOW I think Eve is dying

Which is lore not gameplay, and my comment was more that it sounds more like CCP don’t have the skills to make it work, despite it actually being really simple in you just having a second skill table that is only displayed to people logged in to vanguard

While lore is great for the handful of roleplayers in the game, gameplay does trump lore all of the way

Guys, about Vanguard being bland, you argue, for something unfinished. CCP knew they’ll regret showing that to us…

Let’s wait until its officially released before drawing some accusatory conclusions

Its officially unfinished yet.

BTW: Have you seen FF’2009 live action demo of PC version of DUST played and commented by Hilmar himself?

Part 1/2 7 min (those 2009nish memory cards lol)

Part 2/2 4 min

2009 interview in which Hilmar acknowledges DUST was in the making for 3 years until 2009 …and it was connected to EVE Online, enjoy

It was longer than what we had this year. And showed more content. I’ve read on an old DUST forum it was made with EVE Online Carbon engine (remember Captains Quarters?).

It was in the making at least since 2006 or 2007 to reach that 2009 state. Then in another 4 years it was crammed into PS3 and died along with it. Imho it was pushed on by evil Sooonnny to help itself with ridding few more boxes out of it’s warehouses. It should have been pushed onto PS4 at least which was released just 5 months after DUST launch. PS4 development started in 2009 and they asked dev teams about the expectations. CCP should sue for that and win easily in court  But I guess the claims are expired now due to 5 years of statute of limitations

So EVE Vanguard, while changing names, is in the making for at least 17 years by now. Just 3 years less than EVE Online is alive and not dying.

The prop assault riffles wielded by pirates at FF’23 were based on that 2009 gun Hilmar played with. The colour, shape and the nozzle…

EVE! Forever!

We have come a long way graphics wise in EVE.

I still find eve a stunningly beautiful game in many areas of space, and some of the ship models are fantastic

Okay describe those pictures in words, describe the colors you see. And then we can judge if its bland or not. And also adding a large explosion or fire to liven up your level design/screenshots is cheap.

Can someone explain how a ship is burning on a barren planet in the first place? Doesent fire require oxygen

Barren planet might still have oxygen despite being inhabitable - too hot, no surface water etc…

I was trying to look up the definition of barren when the term is used in combination with a planet and what i could find was it meant devoid of trees. So if there are no trees then there is no oxygen one would assume (Even tho scientists estimate oxygen is mostly generated by plankton, at least in Earths case)

Also i am aware of how nerdy this post was.

And what is a ship required to contain to keep those little flesh puppets alive inside it? :stuck_out_tongue:

I mean, i don’t disagree, but they don’t burn very well :stuck_out_tongue:

Elite Dangerous is perfect for you. It is literally a bunch of barren planets you can land on. As for doing stuff ON the planets you are out of luck. :joy:

Self-awareness is the key to true wisdom.

The new fangled stylism has crept into games like In Sound Mind. An excellent horror genre game. Which has regular style real world graphics most of the time but just gotta have psychedelic, over-saturated, graphics for any ghosts or monsters. Somehow this shift to over-coloured eye candy is a bit jarring. It works, but one does get the sense that someone in a development meeting must have said ’ gotta add more eye candy for the kids '.

Oxygen is one of the most reactive elements for burning, but you can also get burning using flourine, chlorine, and other elements on the right of the periodic table that are hungry for electrons. The process of burning without oxygen is called pyrolysis.

The excuse is, the games will use different game engines. I expect we’ll be able to use the vanguard client eventually to walk around with our capsuleers, but there are probably gameplay and tech limitations on why ccp is giving us a separate warclone character for vanguard. Who knows how / if that will change in the future.

Yet. There’s no reason we can’t have heist / bank robbery mission types that take place in cities. Hacking, insertion, vip capture, PI sabotage, ect. Basically every game mode in warframe and more could be implemented into vanguard.

That’s one of the reasons why I want CCP to make a sim city builder and release it to the players… so we’ll have unique static cities on all the planets that can serve as pois for both EVE and vanguard.

That isn’t what I said is it?

Eve isn’t a shooter.

If ccp wants to keep people who want to play a shooter in their ecosystem, they need a game that fills that desire. Besides, how cool would it be to either play the operator role (dropping off supplies, running intel, hacking pois, giving objectives, ect. to your ground team,) or have someone else play that role from another game.

Eventually we may be able to find an objective poi in EVE, access it, use that node to launch a vanguard mission, and then explore it with a group of friends. With the ability to stream your game, your friends can even watch you do the space stuff while they wait or vice versa.

Doesn’t this depend on what area you measure said incompetency in

  • Company profit?
  • Players retention?
  • FF Tickets sold?

What else?
…this is business operation and not a community club

Not sure what a game engine has to do with the database on the back end, thats not even remotely an excuse

Sure there is, because those are dumb lol

If i’m not using my capsuleer why would i want to waste time harvesting worthless resources?
