Did anyone already got an auto updated launcher?
JUST NOW AND I AM REALLY MAD
WHERE ARE MY PROFILES FOR â â â â â â â ELEVEN ACCOUNTS?
Thx for the new launcher.
Please use it yourself and bring back the old one for the players
If you click outside the scope of the popup it disappears without opting in to either option. Or at least it did for me just now. Just saying.
Did you change the location of the client installation, when prompted by the new launcher? Or did you immediately click [Install]?
If the latter, and youâre not seeing the profiles in the drop-down to apply them per account, you mayâŚ
- Open the Settings (cog icon top right)
- Select
Tools / Cache
- Click on the
Look for Profiles
button
This should populate your dropdowns with profiles that have previously been used when starting clients.
In case of the latter you will need to correct the name of the profiles directory in %localappdata%\CCP\EVE\
to match your current client installation path.
canât remember was trying to relog a toon while in a bad place and couldnât log it back in after xâing the client
why didnât you do that with downtime anyway?
thank you for brilliant QA damn right it >>>should<<<
but I got four profiles left out of about 20 I made
not funny at all
Geez you think yall could be nicer damn
rofl are you a brainwashed fanboi?
got a month old backup but out of those 30 profiles i dont know which is which and somehow it doesnât work well to apply
just one account is OK now
the other toonâs chat windows are all in the â â â â â â â wrong place
there is hours of work now fixing this â â â â
When everything is great and there are no issues, an issue has to be invented to validate existence⌠just like a woman.
⌠Youâre not engineers. You donât need to make up problems in order to solve them, thatâs a waste of time. You couldâve just updated the stupid libraries used in the deprecated launcher in order to use updated and improved securities⌠But no, you wanted your launcher to have the equivalent of âconstruction grade makeupââŚ
Right now, just like it was with the UI youâve shoved down our throats that no one asked for (except the multiple overview system, obviously,) which added nothing of significant value other than what I mentioned before, the new launcher adds nothing of significant value other than slow performance, an unrequested client by anyone, major annoyances like personal settings being reset for absolutely no reason, or by not even running at all either through âsilent treatmentâ or outright null point exception errors.
Interestingly enough, there is a game that has been working for (I believe) 10 years and they updated their launcher to use CEF 8 years ago⌠It still works, works perfectly, and they can add and remove whatever they feel like it and it never breaks or stops working⌠I can only wonder why you didnât do the same thingâŚ
The least you couldâve done was to keep the old launcher being supported and recompile everything to amd64 (usually known as x64 or 64-bit), instead of claiming that Eve Online is x64 when I can clearly see that its i386 (a.k.a. x32 or 32-bit)⌠Yeah, thatâs the good thing about Linux, we can see the stuff you sweep under the carpet at any time⌠Not even the new launcher is x64, its x32+.
Where is the search box so I can type the character name and click the alt I want?
People with +100 characters are in great struggle now!
Just add a search box, please
CTRL+F
(MacOS â+F
) â Search for characters
| Search for account
The relevant account/character will be selected in the list. You can also opt for directly starting characters/accounts from the search.
So after launcher âupdateâ i was repeatedly asked if Iâd like to download and install 35 GB of Eve Online. Cancelling simply made the same prompt appear again and again. Out of curiosity I eventually clicked install and to my astonishment, without looking for further confirmation, indeed whole game started to download. I quitted the launcher almost immediately and noticed that the game was deleted, with brand new 30+ gb of free space on my hdd.
Thanks CCP, once again you proved you indeed know what your customers need. My only request is that youâd also automatically cancel any recurring subscriptions when launching next âupdateâ, doing it manually is pain in the ass.
Absolutely no sympathy.
If youâve partaken in the beta previously, check if you have the âDownload the full clientâ option enabled in the settings, you can then disable it and restart the launcher to prevent it from downloading the full game client.
If the [install] button is clicked when prompted without changing the directory, it will use the previous install directory, then check for any updates and apply them if necessary. If you change the directory that was suggested, it may result in a new instance of the client being downloaded & installed.
Note: 33+GB is the expected size for a full game client, which if you donât let the launcher download, the client will download it for you while playing. The old launcher was not transparent about this expected requirement for a full game client.
When prompted, just confirm the directory, then click install.
For users with the old launcher default directory it should show as C:/EVE/SharedCache
Thank you, I hope this fixes the problem than my EVE Launcher is consuming more cpu than 4 eve clients right now
Those spinnig wheels should stop doing stuff after 1 attempt
I would click it if I could but all I see now - Eve logo
Should I try to reinstall game?
The client wonât download anything while Iâm playing, because I canât play, because my game was deleted by your wonderful launcher. My Eve folder has less than 500 mb now. It was the full game yesterday. And no, I didnât uninstall it myself.
Now to get this new fandangled laucher working for Linux MintâŚ
