Can use them for Station undock duels. Just collect the reward and don’t apply it to a character, just let it sit in the redeem queue. Then log into the game and it’ll be waiting to be redeemed when you’re ready.
but there is still a red dot untill i accept the thing or did i just fail to touch it in the right spot for the eye cancer to go away?

Yeah, I think the red dot will stay on the ‘Redeem Items’ icon located in the NeoCom Bar until it’s redeemed. When it’s redeemed, it’s automatically consumed / activated which is why I said use it for doing station duel games.
@Salt_Foambreaker If I remember correctly, a random amount of SP’s will be added to the bar each time a reward is claimed. When all rewards have been claimed, the SP’s will then also be added to the redeem queue.
It probably IS a good idea if promotional handouts are going to be a regular thing, and all indications are that this is the case.
The execution could use a little work.

works for highsec i guess - i’d have to be lucky for a hunter to be around when i log in but whatever, i’d be only mildly disappointed with the event if it wasn’t for the red dot - now it’s just the right dessert on top of loosing 25% of my effective Hyperion reps. CCPeeing everywhere…
Yeah, It was just an idea that maybe CCP want’s more duels to happen on station undock due to the booster being automatically activated when redeemed.
I’d guess they don’t want them to land on the market.
If it wasn’t for the eye cancer there would be no reason to use it right away - you can redeem stuff in space.

Claiming and redeeming are not the same thing.
If you don’t claim it today, your queue won’t progress.
Redeeming it (removing it from claims to real inventory or applying it to a character) is a second step. They are sometimes conflated if you just redeem onto a character from the login menu, but if you just hit the claim button you’re done, you have 14 days to redeem it onto a character, and you’ll get the new one tomorrow.

I find it kind of a weird message that since this account is all indy characters and none of them use drugs this is of no use whatsoever… Free rewards kids, but only if you do drugs…
Haulie Berry the problem is that once claimed you have to redeem within 13 days. so… and ofcourse I redeemed it on my other character that might gets omething out of it, but since I am working all day it’s pretty much useless. lol so this is pretty much a complete bust for me. Does anyone ever undock within 15 mins after logging in?? I’ve been ingame for 3 hours now, and have yet to see outside of a station.
Yeah, it’s a 10 minute duration (20 with skills!) synth grade booster. Prorating it for duration against a real synth booster, it might have a net value in the 5 to low-6 figure range.
It is kind of pointless, but far from anything that should register as problematic. They’re pretty obviously experimenting with a variety of formats for promotional/login gifts.

Right, I understand that.
I was saying just claim the gift (booster) but don’t redeem it to a character on the character selection screen. I believe the current gift has an expiration time of 14 days. That’s why I said just leave the gift in the Redeem queue, select your character and log into the game. That way the gift will be sitting in the queue ready to be used, hopefully at a time that’s more appropriate compared to being automatically activated upon log-in.
Give it up. These people don’t want assistance on how best to make use of these boosters. They want to be able to put these things on the market.
