Thanks for making a post, op - I was considering making one, but did not go through with it
I feel the same way about yoiul this year. I used to love logging in to see what I got, and gave up pretty quickly this time after running a few of the sites. Does not feel the same, and is not as fun.
I remember the first Christmas when I started about 4 years ago and the overwhelming sense of gratitude I felt for CCP generosity. It really made me feel welcomed and appreciated as a customer, and created a great deal of good will towards CCP. It might have been Leopards that year or maybe Yachts or geckos. And the people who had received attribute remaps in previous years were still glowing. I thought it was brilliant marketing on CCP’s part and it really felt genuine.
But then a shift happened and the gifts became less valuable, and less memorable. I didn’t understand it since it was a gift that didn’t really cost CCP anything.
Now I’ve resigned myself that it is a thing of the past. I’m not disappointed anymore because I now have zero expectations of CCP generosity. Any gift will be in support of CCP’s microtransaction objectives.
