Well, @Kortanil, you’ve seen a variety of opinions expressed in the 120+ comments your thread has garnered thus far.
What are your thoughts? Have you been encouraged in your struggle to have your suggestions taken up by CCP or have you decided somewhat to moderate your original proposals?
Now might be a good time to do a quick summary of how things stand with you - and give the rest of us an opportunity to evaluate our own positions, should that be our choice.

I do like to browse the Player Features & Ideas sub-forum, just as it is, without trawling through posts in GD.
Before starting a thread, I think of its possible destinations and pick the one most likely to be read by discerning visitors. It’s a courtesy to potential readers.
Some folks don’t do this, either through laziness or ignorance. In my case, if I get it wrong, it’s likely to be through ignorance, since I’m not a lazy person. Perhaps the OP has other reasons why he posted a request for a specific feature as a topic for general discussion.
In any case, @YHWH_Is_Lord, it’s good to see that you’re keeping up the verbal abuse which seems to characterise your interactions with those who disagree with you. Good, in the sense of bad, I mean. Can you not dial down the invective?

It’s better just to let cases of Forum Tourettes do their thing. I’m quite sure the discerning recognise the syndrome when they see it.
I can’t mine and gank if my accounts are Alpha but I can if they are Omega?!? This is a very crappy way to prevent unfair multiboxing activities unless CCP has set up a system “if you want to disrupt the economy of the game by multiboxed mining and ganking, all you have to do is pay us real money OR blow people ships in high sec to steal their cargo so you can buy play time of the market and we will allow you to do so!” this makes CCP and their game look like an utter dishonorable tool
Its actually very simple.
I highly doubt that MOST of the players share the same computer and thus launcher with another player, it’s a very small portion if there are any at all because this game is “expensive”:
- the player needs a decent connection and a good computer to run it otherwise the whole flying experience turns into ■■■■, been there done that, if one can afford such computer then can surely afford a second one for the second player, etc
- the amount of ISK that can be lost if something goes wrong can be very high.
- the time invested in playing it on daily basis is also very high, so sharing the same computer with another person to play EVE is very unlikely.
if a player can trust another player to run the same launcher on the same COMPUTER log in and therefore allowing them access to all the files and programs that are on that computer for that log in then the trust level between these two “separate” players must be as high as the trust between two separate identities that reside within the same person who wants to multibox! What’s the problem then if they share the same inventory and wallet in EVE if they can share the rest of the much more important stuff on that computer? The two identities of my split EVE personality fully agree that there is no problem!

If you think Alphas get a crap deal…well guess what ? They are getting more than they pay for.

Kind of. I never had to deal with it personally so I didn’t pay much attention, had a recent discussion with another player that open my eyes about how big of an issue it actually is, and here the discussion kind of went that way.

That question was asked recently in another thread ( too lazy to go dig it up ) and I found it very interesting and pertinent.

Alphas don’t pay anything, don’t you get it?? Alpha Clone mode is a free mode. Omega Clone Time is the subscription one.
