One Way to Balance High-Security Space šŸ—”

Time well spend I see, it’s a shame our time zones only cross at certain times but what ever, it was fun, it’s a pity the Golems went into Bastion as we may have saved them.

And some people should have fitted properly

But keep on track with the thread, Eve mechanics seemed to work ok this evening for both sides, double our numbers and we could have saved a lot more, I burnt out my reps several times and was chatting to one happy freighter pilot.

Those poor mission runners. Someone ought to do something about this!

If they are poor they should run better paying missions. :smirk:

Thank you, both, for replying with, once again, constructive feedback. Given the nature of the post I’m replying to, I was running with the premise that the OP had reasons for their suggestion. From my own (limited) experience, new player systems seem very safe for new players, and the nearby hisec systems don’t seem like much of a danger - though I still consider everywhere to come with some measure of risk even when I’m a new person in a career agent system.

I’m new enough to the game to trust that both of you AND the person whose original post we’re responding to, all have significantly more playtime than me. That leaves me in a position to be viewing things as somewhat of an outsider (but an odd one, because I’ve been in contact with the game’s community since it was less than a year old).

I wasn’t actually trusting that the OP’s reasons for wanting change were valid, but I was making my suggestion while working from that assumption - even if my prior knowledge suggests it not to be an accurate assessment of the game. I was addressing their suggestion NOT by claiming to know the game well enough to just say ā€œnoā€ when I don’t, but by saying ā€œwhat about this slightly different version of the suggestion?ā€ and seeing how people react to it and the reasons they give for why they agree or disagree with me.

And once again, thank you both for giving constructive feedback on my suggestion, and a good breakdown of why it isn’t needed (and isn’t a good idea).

And thank you for the epic story!

Sorry Im not sure in what way Im ā€œdealing withā€ Aiko. But anyway, Ill take it as an attempt to be helpful, so thank you, I think.

that argument is kind of off unless you thinking botting is ok as well.

m

I thought botting had to do with the elimination of human-actions in a game. Which is independent of the actual in-game action under discussion.

Is the suggestion that all CONCORD pulls are done by bots? What about other ā€œexploits that are CCP approvedā€ like microwarpdrive-plus-cloak trick?

I figure there’s more than enough nuance available here.

Simple really. Allow freighters to fit defenses. A golem with 3 bil fittings, active tanked, using auto pilot. Yea he deserved it. But the freighter has no option other than using alts.

Mm no. Here’s why.

We’re playing an MMO.

What’s crazy is that article DC linked from the original devs, when you compare their vision of EVE to now, it’s totally different.

EVE has almost become that massively single player experience they didn’t want due to multi-accounts.

Flying a freighter? Find actual other people to help defend it. If I was flying thru space with billions of ISK, I’d want people guarding me too LOL.

Tell that to Red Frog, Black Frog, and PushX. I’m pretty sure they’ve made a tidy profit from it…

My guy, we’re playing an MMO.

That’s the reason

You know what makes those runs exciting? When people try to blap you and your homies defend you

Cause yennoe. You’re playing a vidya game. At the keyboard

In your opinion

In your opinion

Again bruv, we’re playing an MMO. Some activities, if you wanna be safe, should require other people

The only thing that makes it boring are other people not interacting with the escort. I’m sure the group making the escort run are having fun in comms just by being social. These sort of things should be points of content, but people would rather just dock up than to engage.

This the root of all your problems, you think that being a player is the simple act of owning something… then you see gankers destroying items that are on space and this challenges your notions of existence in EVE.

Nothing on space belongs to you, everything on space can change from hand to hand or disapear.

Now send me 300 PLEX, that’s the psychiatrist bill.

I like your post. In the real world where CCP does not listen nor read these posts though it will not happen. So how will the high sec herd of cats come to realize that the problem will have to be solved by them and them alone. My guess Never, For Ever And Ever. But say they finally did go past that 51% tolerance level and peg out at 110%, then Ganking is the only solution to Ganking. That right brothers and sisters, and cats of many nations CCP will not respond until you all join in the fun and stop high sec from moving even one system with out total abject fear of annihilation, Like your spirit there but CCP spent two years doing nothing why would you really think they are about to do any thing now. Keep the spirit. Ganking is the Way according to the Ashes of the Holy roids. Do you have your Pair. (Now when you read this do it in a Southern Bell accent and you will be amazed of the effect it will have on you Holy pair.) Ganking is the only way, repent and join

Really? So CCP devs were Ultima Online players just like us, no wonder that the online games I identified most are Ultima Online and EVE Online

I will join you soon in UO and I will be a player killer, hopefully you are too.
I’m running the newbie dungeon, I just spent all my reagents.

I say that only insured ships should generate bounties split on it’s attackers, this would include all sec levels, it could be 1/3 of the insured value. So if the player spent 30 milions in an insurance, then the bounty would be 10 milions split between the attackers.

The bounties would be rolled during DT so it wouldn’t cause performance issues during big fights.

What do you think about my idea @Mike_Azariah

Erm. Yea bro, not all, but if you’re choosing to haul billions in assets across dangerous space, maybe bring some friends. Yennoe. In an MMO

So when I say opinion, I’m wrong. But then you go on to say it was still an opinion.

Which means its an opinion, not a fact. As you admitted. Also uh escort fleets weren’t ā€œpurgedā€. People either yes, found them boring but the slow way is the safe way as Stilgar says. Or people just multi-boxed and did it themselves.

I mean if you could show me the patch notes were the escort fleets were purged as a concept by CCP, that’d be appreciated  I wasn’t aware of something in game that stopped you from fleeting up with a freighter

Oh and um, did you find it on the box yet? Inquiring minds want to know Rroff

Chip truth omae. The best supply run is a boring supply run

Yennoe, if I got paid for all the education I do here, I’d be a very rich space boy

Yea, that’s what drew me to EVE in the first place. Right now I’m mainly APKing cause I don’t got a house. Hard to macro off counts without a house  Add my discord. I can give you some popular PK builds. Of course mage is usually first on the list.

Newb dungeon is good for beginning gold/skill gain. You gain skill 10x faster in there but only to 75.

Sadly you’ll have to do some PvM first to fund your PvP, good news is PvP chars are way cheaper cause codex/aspect don’t apply. Main expense will be some GM gear/regs and your spellbook/runebook.

There are some very big active PK guilds tho. PKing is very active both in dungeon and in the wild. I’m macroing up an archer mage right now, already got a macer dex and almost done with my nox fencer.

Hard part is if you die as a red, depending on counts it also costs gold to rezz them IF red. So a lot of times peep just macro off the counts.

That means they were successful

You want it to be exciting? Leak the route you’re going ahead of time

Well if you want to haul billions without an escort, that’s up to you just don’t cry about it when someone ganks you…which plenty already do, hence the thread.

I have before? It went fine. A boring run is a good run because it means everyone made it safely.

Also, I’m sorry that for you its hard to fly around in space with some bros, shooting the quafe and generally having a grand time.

I mean, it speaks volumes about you tho bruv

Huh. So you won’t mind dropping the patch notes where CCP says that you can’t fleet up with reg freighters anymore because they introduced JFs right? Cause you see, when you say purged, you’re saying it is no longer allowed

So I’m just curious as to where CCP implemented that in the patch notes.

Also did you find it on the box or

I’m sure they would have helped keep some freighters alive in Uedama
