This resonated with my soul and stimulated my parasympathetic nervous system, much thanks! Tired of being told to get in line like a good hound, take the tomatoes thrown to face with grace, and then gaslit as authoritarian for daring to question any of this process. It was mercenaries hired by empire groups that held the gun to our heads, burned our structures, and killed our people who couldn’t be cloned. And to this day, core empire groups continue to bully us into line and mock us, while somehow expecting us to gladly help them.
We’ll help, but only because it’s probably the right thing to do in terms of existential risk and some of us still care about kith and kin in empire space.
I would like more data before making such a bold statement.
And besides, what kind of existence is worth having varies from person to person, the capsuleer perks i am familiar with, the kybernaut ones, not yet.
Perhaps their parties are more interesting and the drinks more intoxicating. And i am still interested in learning if the sex is a foursome, if not in body, in spirit/infomorph.
I’d love more data too, but I do agree with the EDENCOM side in that we can infer some things based on the Triglavian Collective’s actions. They’re definitely a conquering, combative sort. What they’re doing to the stars is without mutual consent and unknown to our current understanding of physics.
What the Triglavians will do with mass population centers of baseliners remains to be seen, but then why just leave the denizens of victim worlds to whatever fate the Trigs have decided rather than their own? Why find out when we could just ensure people’s safety up front? The number of Kybernaut capsuleers seems to outnumber EDENCOM capsuleers in most engagements I’ve seen, so those with a morbid fascination for scientific data will surely get theirs. Enough people are saying “we need data”, not enough are standing sentinel in the long night.
I do not consent to a lot of things happening in the cluster, i also do not bother to move many fingers to do something about it. If this is the path of reasoning, there are a lot of examples of disturbance in ecosystems and the rapid deterioration of natural resources moved by rampant consumerism that, in the right time, will probably lead us to go invade some territory in some other part of space and do nasty things to whatever lives there.
They are usually treated as human capital stock by whatever power hold authority over them anyway.
“Heaven and Earth are not partial. They do not kill living things out of cruelty or give them birth out of kindness. We do the same when we make straw dogs to use in sacrifices. We dress them up and put them on the altar, but not because we love them. And when the ceremony is over, we throw them into the street, but not because we hate them.”
That is indeed a good question. Shall we free slaves from their captors before or after defending them from Triglavians? Or perhaps they would be better with the Trigs? Or alone?
What is good for them and who is to judge?
All that is happening right now within our cluster, caused by our brothers and sisters to our brothers and sisters, kinda scares me more than these outsiders at the moment.
Were the people of Vale asked to vote on the Triglavians plans for their homes ? I don’t think so.
It is irrelevant. They’re only interested in chaos and destruction, because they view “change” trumps everything else. Their narrative about “edencom fascism” and how the Triglavs would bring “freedom” is bunk, it’s based on wishful thinking.
Anarchy is the enabler of absolutist tyranny. Everywhere it has been attempted, it has always, within a generation, fallen to strongarm authoritarianist figures, who usually “purge” many of their fellow citizens if they don’t fall in line.
When your CEO ever publicly apologises for publicly accusing me of being transphobic, homophobic, and the rest, then perhaps I might be persuaded to be less abrasive to your petty nonsense.
Of course capsuleers are combative, conquering sorts. But I didn’t want to engage in a whataboutism and stay on-topic.
True, the empires are corrupt and there is resource depletion and exploitation. True, slavery is still an institution in the cluster (one I have previously fought against in admittedly less-than-legal ways).
But that’s not a reason to justify hand-wringing when the surface of stars like Raravoss appear absolutely covered in mutplasmid (couldn’t collect samples but the visual similarities were striking). I think the scale of potential destruction outweighs what the Big Four could do put together, or else they wouldn’t have banded together to form EDENCOM. Somebody has sat down and crunched the numbers and now the Republic and Amarr Empire are working together. That’s not insignificant.
Glad you know everything, O Mighty Lady! Glad you, an Amarrian, understand freedom better than Matari!
The favored line of the imperialist afraid of real change. “What if your tyranny replaces mine??”, though history has shown that we are the invaded ones, not the invaders.
Mind linking me to those accusations? I’d love to review them for myself and chat it out.

Worry not, without condoning or condemning i understand what people do. Aid who you like, shoot who you do not like, do stuff, do not do anything, do nothing.
It was an invitation for different perspectives, for a lot of people there are much much more immediate actual existencial threats than what the Triglavians currently provide. Our pods shield us from a lot of things happening around the cluster, sometimes our senses get a bit numb.
I worry about the polarization of capsuleers and trans/post-humans more generally too. I’m saddened when losing years-long pilots and friends to disagreements on the nature of this most recent existential threat when we’ve already lost so many, and it’s only the recent political turbulence that has ushered my return to the public spotlight and podium. I thank you for your willingness to ask questions in a time when absolutist rhetoric is common and the pleasant conversation.
With respect, this is an exaggeration. Both are working with Edencom but that isn’t much different (or more binding) as both having worked with CONCORD for decades already.
A fine distinction to make. Still, I hold hope that humanity and post-humanity will unite in this time rather than divide…we must stand strong together in these times.
It’s a wonderful dream to unite all of humanity, but it would be quite difficult at this time.
Despite being one of the biggest proponents for people lending their support for the EDENCOM forces, I recognize that the Triglavian invasions don’t make the cluster’s other very serious problems go away. As most, if not all, of those serious problems are caused by people or groups of people, everyone uniting is a nigh impossibility.
