I just fit the Outrider, and went out mining…
SO it took 30 MINS to fill up its 20K cargo…
EXACTLY LIKE the ENDURANCE…
Then docked and the Pioneer Ci Miners 2 gets 62Sqmt against 47 of the Outreider…
So 10 mins for 10K on the Pioneer CI VS 30Mins for 20K…
I think this is WRONG…
First, the Outider CPU is ridiculously LOW. … and second… I sincerely
thought with 2X Mining Bursts, the timing would have gone significantly down…
AT LEAST near the 20Mins tag the Pioneer CI is capable of doing for 20K Ore…
CCP Please, the Outrider is already in need of a small buff…
the market also reflects this… the Pioneer CI is worth more than the Outrider right now…

It’s slow…
it should get a 5% yield additional bonus per level of skill somewhere…
that means at Lv 5 25%, still half of the Consortium Issue but faster than
an Endurance or the T1 Pioneer…
that’s my thought… Cpu is also very low but at least it has a generous Drone bay
and could use 2X Mining drones… that could bring the time down…

This one goes UP to 49 Mt/sq x Miner II, cheaper fit also.
First command charge gives a 50% crit bonus = on per with Pioneer CI
Second command burst charge reduces the cycle time from 15s to 12.6s
The “on field” run showed it took 30mins anyway to fill all the 20k hold up.

The Outrider isn’t a pure mining ship. It’s a hybrid mining support ship and miner. It’s not as strong as other mining ships at mining, but brings mining links while it also mines a fair bit more than a Porpoise. It also brings the utility of a MJFG to reposition an entire mining fleet at once.
Compare it’s yield to a Porpoise and you will notice the yield is really good.
I’m in the Fleet, I should get the Bonus anyway, it doesn’t matter…
What it matters is accordingly to my calcs, it should have taken 25mins with the reduced cycle to fill the 20k up and it took 29-30…
– I lost some time in the Vid so I could have lost maybe 2 mins, and from 29 I could have gone down to 27… and I didn’t use the drones… that could have bring me down to 26…
Maybe I’m too picky and it’s actually really good already…
maybe I could get a small buff and get down to 20mins total…

Yea, they’re queued up for me as well. I decided to train the Outrider on one of my mining characters rather than on my Porpoise pilot, so I had to get those mining command skills all over again.
Couple of weeks and I’ve got another mining foreman mindlink for that Outrider.
Yea, I’m skipping the dual-mindlink implants. Way too much ISK.
Usually I’m either there for mining links or for shield links, not both. Likewise I’m only going to use the expedition command bursts on a ship, not combine it with armor links as well. Saves a lot of ISK!

You can get a higher yield on the Outrider while leaving the low slots completely empty than an unboosted Pioneer CI will have with MLU IIs in both slots. Seriously.
Pioneer CI in 10 mins get 10K full, and has faster alignment and 24Km miner range.
Outrider gets 20 mins 20k full, slower alignment and 12Km range…
Ci role bonuses are HUGE in practice.
Sounds like for your use-case the Pioneer CI is a better choice.
Personally I’m going to use the Outrider, because it’s really nice that it can bring mining links so I can use it to replace my Porpoise and get more yield.
Never felt comfortable taking a Porpoise through a wormhole to ninja mine, but the Outrider is perfect for that. Using an Outrider/Prospect combo should enable me to buy that Odysseus as soon as the skills are finished training high enough to make it worth using. Like you, I’m having to convert an alt. My current mining booster is on the same account as my main combat pilot, so can’t have both of them ninja mining. Fortunately I already had a FW alt with command destroyers, so most of the support skills are already trained.
