no, the funny thing is how triggered you are if someone tries to brainstorm some ideas. its funny how mad you get when my only intention was to add something i think could be fun, but you have an insane ego since the start because “hurr durr new player must be dumb because game very deep”

so no wonder the game is stagnating if thats how you greet new players

It’s very easy for me to identify Lucas. He always had a habit of ignoring me and attempting to bury my post with replies to anyone else whenever I called their bluff on something that should have been easy to reply to.

It stems from an incident three years ago when he said “No CCP developer ever said X” and I literally quoted CCP Swift on these very forums saying X, and he kept ignoring me, and I kept reminding him “would you care to comment on this” repeatedly and he kept ignoring me.

He literally cannot admit to being wrong, ever.

It’s now a pattern of avoidance that is very easy to identify. Genuine new people to Eve are happy to talk to me when I push back. Sometimes angrily, sometimes not, but only Lucas masquerading in one of his admittedly numerous forum alts actually outright avoids replying to me.

This whole thread is full of @Tirador69 aka @Lucas_Kell attempting to never reply to me. They posted 7 times since I first pushed back against them, and twice just now since I’ve asked for their “great idea”. They are still active on the forum just now!

All that is true, I remember those threads (most of Lucas’ threads even). But dear old Lucas had his ways of diverting the topic too, something I don’t see here. And then I would come up with gifs from any Potter movie, which he would not appreciate. Good times. Good paranoia too, haha. He left a lasting impression. I’d better check under the couch if he’s hiding there.

It’s pretty funny watching the OP drag a bunch of the local boomers through the mud with what are actually entirely rational arguments. EVE’s gameplay is shallow, with its only evergreen feature being the ability to go out and destroy other players at will (a feature that has been nerfed repeatedly over the past 15 years due to incessant crying by casual players, mind you). Everything else is a simple, repetitive grind for money.

There’s a lot of copium involved in thinking that EVE is “difficult” or (lol) “most skill intensive.” You can tell, because these players will always recommend other players to “expand” their EVE experience by either doing more generic PvE grinding for ISK, or doing something nonsensical like going into “PvP space” with your naked rear end hanging out of your assless chaps and waiting for a 40-man gang to kill you (there’s your difficulty right there, hurr hurr). When your only in-game goal is to accumulate as much fake money as possible, and PvP is scary because it can make you lose your ship and set your wealth accumulation back by a day, of course EVE will feel like an expansive, unexplored, and dangerous place. But it doesn’t feel that way to people who treat EVE Online as an actual game, for whom the shallow veneer of the “sandbox” becomes apparent very quickly.

Hearing this makes them feel extremely uncomfortable, because it challenges the prestige they presume to command by virtue of playing this “difficult, skill-intensive” game. Having other players expose EVE’s historical lack of content and difficulty isn’t very palatable, since it endangers their ability to brag about being an “elite” EVE player to all of their friends.

Likewise, any proposal to reduce the grind and make the game more enjoyable for new players is anathema to them. Some of the most toxic responses I’ve ever gotten from people on this forum happened when I proposed giving players a small universal income, and starting out new players with a few million skill points. Yes, these people are that afraid of anyone being able to become competition to their daily grind. I have a thread in C&P calling out and insulting, straight to their faces, the biggest null-sec alliances in the game, and the most I’ve gotten out of that is a few sheepish smiles. But giving players 2 million ISK a day so that new players don’t have to slave away Venture-mining high-sec Veldspar during their first month? Actual death threat.

These EVE boomers are walking, talking caricatures of their own perversions.
