In Eve you can approach someone like his friend, gain his trust, talk with him daily basis about kids and life and games. gain his affection, play with his feelings, manipulate, For monthsā¦ then you can backstab him, steal everything he builds leave him ruined and when you announce this to the communityā¦ everybody hails to you and claps.
Moral values, humanity are undermined inside the game. You are a clone. It is a space video game. Never forget that.

But you can make 20 different characters and write and talk to him cheat him for months even your main is blocked by this person. That is ok. As long as the person doesnāt know it is you. This is also how you can approach your in-game enemies. infiltrate their structure, spy. Even they block you. And this is the way CCP allows you to approach them. This is suitable to rules. Called spying.
SO you can steal, you can use and abuse their feelings time and energy ingame because it is just a game. you can scam you can steal, But you cannot call them ācā then it is " not" just a game.

After the exchange is performed, Trader B realizes that this trade was greatly disadvantageous to him, his new Warp Disruptor not only doesnāt provide him with an advantage worth way below the one of the ISK he exchanged for it, but also cannot be sold quickly to return even a 1000th of his investment, and he is in deep trouble over this mis-investment.
If trader B was just any random trader, everyone would laugh at him and tell him that in any business thereās risks, and the risks of buying an asset without researching it were well known to him in forward.
However, trader B is not any random trader, heās a too-big-to-fail trader. The Government of Caldari summons an emergency meeting and decides they will bail out B because him filing bankruptcy would have disastrous consequences. Easy to just put most of your isk on a character that never touches the market (I mean you get 3 per account, so everyone can easy have an extra). Try and buy something that is way over priced and it fails you donāt have the isk because isk is on the account you are using as a bank.
You mean itās on the industry alt until you actually want to use that money, whether by relogging on the industry toon and using that toon to buy, or by sending the money to the primary capsuleer of that account, and then just fall for the scam nevertheless?
I mean, you can CTRL+A the contract content and CTRL+C it onto evetycoon or evepraisal or whatnot. Youāre just too lazy.

My name is Brewlar Kuvakei ceo of Adaptio Gloriae as both CCP developers, GMās, many market traders & CSM know I was involved in this practise. I had made a trillion ISK or so doing this, it was so easy & quick that I had so much ISK that I started giving 100ās of billions of isk away to players and to plex 4 good.
I did not invent this scam and it is as old as the first market hub in eve, however POS upwells allowed this scam to be brought into another level and era.
I contacted CSM members & others as I felt the matter needed addressed as well as several market guruās and eve media moguls, as the amount of ISK that was being made was absurd for so little effort & next to zero time involved. I also heavily advertised results in Discords.
How little time involved was the reason I first started this practise at implementation of upwellās. I had just had a kid and was only able to find time to play computer games in bursts of 10 to 20 mins inbetween naps of my new born. So spent my time docked and fudging these markets.
I was making around 6bn isk phr maybe more as the matter required so little effort or organisation that it is hard to count what time was spent compared to client active time.
I feel the matter is now addressed because of the following.

CCP introduced a minimum skim from the broker fee at up-well player markets. Previously I was able to populate entire markets with say 15 orders at an upwell entirely for free if I arranged 0% broker or 0% tax with the owner or used my own. Iād then list one or 2 at the NPC paying minimal broker fee.

The introduction of non-disable price warnings, previously players were able to disable this. CCP put a stop to that ages ago.

0% trading at POS up wells allowed me to trade items to myself raising average prices. Introduction of CCP feeās at upwells prevents this exploit.

Previously there was no limit to the sig fig of market orders. There are now 4. The font in eve is not standard width certain chars have a greater width meaning you could make 9 figures smaller than 6 depending on market window settings. ie, 1bn was shorter than 1m.

CCP introduced sensible broker feeās meaning the cost to āfakeā an entire market is costly now.
All the above actions were never really needed to prevent me doing this as the Imperium has shown in 1DQ. I was never able to pull this off in 1DQ because 1DQ actually has competent market managers & competent fees.
There has been some splash back, one of the issues of making tnās of isk doing this ādigit scamā is you end up with 1000ās of items from the market you manipulate. It is to my benefit to crash said markets with the surplus items after the market has crashed I will then recommit to the scam.
However the main prevention to me doing this scam is the same problem all market players have. Once I have fudged a market it is not long before a botter comes along using 24/7 market pulls. it was pretty hillirious how some bots reacted to this scam and a few of them clearly got blasted by CCP because of it. Bye Ruppppeeeee, you will never be missed.
Some highlights notable interactions of my time doing this scam,
I think my biggest scam with this was selling a 30m Ferox for 30bn to a test line member in their battle with horde. I also sold several Ferox fits for several multiple bn, in fact the scamming in the TT in that war was more than losses combined for both sides.
I reached my goal of 1tn ISK, including owning all the racial Titans.
Instead of managing the TTT competently like goons did with 1DQ Villy & co just introduced a bot to dunk on my orders, yeaaaaaaaah fun and engaging gameplay.
Downsides,
Making bnās of isk in 10 minutes afk sort of sours eve, all other ISK making activity looks like a joke.
This scam is still viable to earn ISK & the reward/risk is now well balanced. I think the devs have found a good balance either through direct action or consequential action of the re-balancing of broker feeās for up well owners with were making my small fortune look like peanuts.
