A bot written to watch local is a lot better at watching local than even the most careful player. It never gets distracted, it never gets tired of seeing nothing happen, it just… watches local until something it thinks is a threat shows up. Then it does whatever it’s written to do about the threat, like warp off to a safe or dock up.
Heh, if written properly, it wouldn’t take that much to have one ping for help in fleet, PANIC, and light a cyno. And count exactly what’s trying to kill it and post the details in fleet.
The issue is detailed in CCP Falcon’s post which the OP detailed, yes the impact will self correct, but still the imbalance in terms of assets will take a long time to dissipate and is a significant advantage compared to most other hisec entities.
It will be a bit difficult to pin down I think, I just hope that CCP do a very good job on it because it is a high profile case and it did give them a massive unfair advantage despite what some others have said in this thread. No emotion from me, I will still be playing regardless of this because the reason I play is to test myself more than anything else.
I ever thought how these pirate mercs throw away hundred of milions of isk away wardecing small alliances just to get a few or no kills without a profit in return.
smacking them silly and taking their poco empire off them again should net you the answer to that.
i had a list of pirat shell corps but thats about six months to a year out of date,
eveuni and Tora Bushiedo would be the people to talk to about more up to date info if anyone’s thinking about it.
I have been in a wardeck by P I R A T E and yes it sucks, they really mess up the new player base but maybe players that are new should first get to know the game before moving to custom corps. I do believe that CODE is more responsible for a decline in new players as they just gank anybody that is semi afk or mining. I do agree with CODE’s code of honor but I do think there should be a better way for new guys to be separated so that they wont be killed by ‘‘accident’’
Chicken, egg. In most of the starter corps, the fastest way to learn how to play the game is to join a player corp. Some of them have active players in chat who will explain things.
This one… has some people in chat who will try to convince you to triple-tank a ship: armor buffer, armor active, shield buffer. Not even joking.
Also history: every time someone tries that, someone else tries to make a “think of the newbies” mechanic, someone else is going to think of how to exploit it and do it on many many toons.
Well eve uni did it with a bunch of derpy newbros and made a fecking laughing stock of them, then spent the rest of the day in amarr local giving those pocos to anyone that asked for one.
Just read the CSM12 minutes. How discouraging! This very topic is inferred then discussed briefly.
Basically, the minutes state CCP is more concerned about the perception of addressing P I R A T’s glaring botting then actually taking action. WOW, guess I shouldn’t be stunned, but I cannot help but be.
Many of the above appear to be correct that CCP will just look the other way =(
Never heard about that happening, but if thats true, thats utterly hilarious, I guess even a botting empire of Blingy T3 spammers can get their ■■■■ handed to them by some newbies.
It’s too late the damage is done with war decs all in the name of getting easy kills in hisec. I’m just surprised that CCP would have a mechanic which decimates their player base.
