I have.
I have friends.
My friends can counter bump and web me.
So there is a way to guard the freighter, but no to let the freighter guard itself - but this is fair beacause the bumper won´t kill you alone.
IMO the best would be to make point/scram/web not trigger concord reaction.
This way I am totally okay with bumping not triggering concord reaction.
Bet how long the game will last when a threat only to freighters become available to everyone in HS ?
No it’s still unfair that the bumper can prevent the freighter from warping. Not even talking about the gank that may come afterward.
I think it´s a bad idea - so you agree, that bumping is fine ?
The two parts of this sentence are unrelated. This makes no sense, sorry please use terms that make a logical sense.
“you think the weather is nice, so you agree that weed can cure cancer” . Please I think you should stop alcohol, it’s killing your brain cells.
If you got bumped webbing does not help anymore. Actually nothing helps.
Let your iwin button go, it hurts a bit to get past your laziness but you will get used.
You just need to learn to play without an unfair advantage
Web helps, a friend who burns in the direction you´re bumped helps to find a spot to warp to. Be more creative in anti-measures… Some Warp-tos in the directions where no citadels are, …
What is an unfair advantage ?
Skilling an BS and some decent skills to play the bump game to get a sweet loot pinata with 20 friends from someone who is too lazy to create some warpouts (before) or isn´t able to get 1-2 friends to help ?
I lost a freighter against bumpers - and came free ~10 times.
The “iwin” button is skill in bumping, some scanners, a char created for this and 20 friends.
When you can´t be saved with the same afford I would agree.
I grouped you with Haulers/Freighters as you’re defending OP’s rhetoric. No intention to abase, nor harm your image, just a matter of facilitating a debate, and writing in the simplest form. That said, it does not mean that I ‘cannot bear the minimum of logics’, nor that I ‘lack of logical sense’ - so spare me your sarcasm please.
Now, can we be civil here or should we call ISD for arbitration?
It is clear that this bumping-mechanic is an annoyance to Haulers. So if they should feel too much to bear (of being ganked or tossed around in space), my advice would be to leave the game, save their money and time somewhere else. It’s a pretty good advice to anyone, really.
Thank you for your free “bump” but your post is off topic.
We discuss in this thread just the fix i suggested, as CCP already decided that bumping is an real issue who need to be fixed and tried to come with a 3 minutes warp timer.
If you want to defend the mechanic who allow perma-bumping freighters, please open another thread in the appropriate forum section. Thank you!
PS: i will report as off topic any further post who don’t focus on the subject of this thread, and that is the module i suggested.
Also, i never used a freighter and neither have any plans to do it
Well, likewise bro. You’re suggesting for the iWin button so that Highsec be ‘safe’. Bumping is a based on mechanic, not really an ‘issue’ and does not need any ‘fix’. But Haulers need to learn to play the game. And there have been NUMEROUS alternatives proposed since the beginning of this OP, even your proposed Module has found counter-proposal. And yet, you’re still ‘hoping’ for a ‘fix’ !
Well. Dream on brother!
Post flagged as off topic. A moderator need clean up this thread from off topic posts please, thank you!
As I wrote above, there could be many alternatives for this, beside a simple timer.
Maybe CONCORDE becomes poor, when the trigs are attacking, so they sell “letter of marque” which allows you to do illegal actions for 15mins.
Maybe you need some pirate LP to get something to bribe CONCORDE.
Maybe you may get a “call my mommy” LowSlot module
Maybe CONCORDE may auto counterbump - when you have the right standing - or they activate a pace-control beam when a freighter gets to fast which gives your control back.
You see, many possible solutions for both sides - but I simply don´t like ideas which terminate some good gameplay and developes eve into a game for lazy people.
Good, as we both agree on that, stop defending a game mechanic who encourage laziness
says the one who claimed “if you can’t agree with me you should leave”
You can’t be freed from one bumper with only one freighter. So now you agree with people saying bumping is a stupid mechanism. read the tile its “permabumping” not “ganking” issue.
There is yes. A counter proposal was made a couple days ago, whereby Haulers request the help of Player owned Escort Services (PES). So that basically work alike in RL, and they defend their client (which is the Hauler) from any incoming threats (from Gankers, War target, etc.)
And, in the case of being bumped, the PES should engage, while the Hauler has time to leave the scene, get to safety or jump gate. To note in that instance, the Hauler (and his web service guy) should not be in the same fleet as those PES, for they are dedicated to gank to protect their client (wherever applicable).
The problem with OP and his supporters, is that they have negated all other options - and chosing the lazy way - that badgering CCP for a fix, so they can play along, in high sec, in Eve online, peacefully.
It is. It’s right up there with mining someone else’s rocks, salvaging someone else’s wrecks, mucking up market orders to hurt a competitor. All of these are consequence-free forms of aggression that cause actual financial harm to someone.
That’s nowhere something that was requested in this thread. That’s just imagination from you.
If this is an issue, it’s in your head, and that’s all.
All your other solutions are not actual solutions.
First, they don’t fix the issue that is the existence of perma bumping.
Second, they would cost even more than a freighter ship, so are not something that can be afforded.
A NPC solution for a Player task, really ?
This could happen everywhere.
Every ship could be locked down in low or high sec in a way where you can´t (shouldn´t) log off.
So is this mechanic also broken ?
And every change in a more “reasonable” way would end in being adapted by the players or destroy good gameplay.
Can’t actually see them as being the same as they are instigating a combat act when bumping.
When I cut your orders it’s NOT an actual aggression, even if it’s intended to reduce someone’s else profit in the future.
When I outmine your team in a HS field, it’s not actual aggression either, as it’s just your potential future gain that is reduced, not your actual present assets.
When I effectively prevent someone from warping however, this is aggression.
Competition is not aggression, even if hooligans can’t understand the difference. Please learn the nuances in the words you are using, else your sentence is just plainly wrong.
It’s easy, I suppose if you try to bump them using another freighter that might be hard.
But if you use a similar ship it is easy.
