New Photon bug unlocked:
Half and half.
I have had a grime with this UI ever sense it was released it is just pure soulless utilitarian. Sure it might look a little sci-fi ish but common even star treks ships interfaces has more charm, Color warmth.
I nagged for years to bring back the color full and good looking icons on the Neocom but CCP being lazy as hell here you can pick different colors of the icons now but it´s 1 solid color.
When I nagged about the Icons I meant the ones we had in the past.
I want this back not the trash we have now.
EVE is first and foremost a game it´s supposed to be fun and maybe a bit silly but it should make me happy to play. Honestly the UI we have now is like being in a hospital clean sterile boring and bloody DEPRESSING.
In this new dev blog they state " The primary goal is to improve telegraphing, legibility, and clarity."
And I will say this the old Neocom icons was clear as hell easy to just know what it was just glancing over it. But the most important part is it had charm. Today´s Icon just scream simple clean I don´t give a damn design.
I might be the only eve player that miss the old Neocome and I wll say this it´s not because of nostalgia it´s because the current utilitarian boring UI just makes me not wanna play because it´s depressing.
If you as a dev rely love your game put some damn effort in and show it show it with design with taught put in to it the world is depressing as it is we don´t need a boring utilitarian dystopia in all our games. I don´t want to fell like an office worker when I play eve.
And one last thing remove the red dots. when I get new loot or isk or what ever. EVE online is not a shitty mobile game and we gamer´s are not that bloody stupid with need it pointed out to us. Even new players that join eve for the first time has most likely played 100s of games before playing EVE they all know when you loot things they are added to inventory or when you get money it´s added to the gold sack or wallet.
All these red dot´s are added in mobile games because most mobile game players has never played a game before they need that help. But for me that´´s been gaming for 36 years all it´s telling me is that you think im an IDIOT. Sure I might be stupid but not that stupid.
So how about we quit treating gamer´s are idiots ??? That would be nice.
