I really like the new UI. Found that the “Apply to join” dialog has a very small “application text” field. With very small I meant to say unusable.
everyone of us want to save space but that dont mean, that we dont want to get the information to interact with someone. it was only an idea to save space and get the info about chatting - there is always a smoother way of designing something like that but critic alone isnt feedback

One of the worst things about this UI. This is so inconspicuous that you shouldn’t even have bothered with it.
I love most things about the UI however the transparency of everything is a pain in the ass, most things you can make darker so you can see them except for the button bar on the side, that is the one reason that I undid the UI can’t see what buttons you have to hit if you want to do it quickly.
In the ships hangar, the green background of the boarded ship seems miss aligned.
The “Create Group” window in the Neocom. Not possible to resize either. To go there, right click the Neocom and then click on “Create Group”.
Undock button needs to be bigger (like it used to be) and the “Board my Corvette” button much smaller - different colours would be nice.
The in game email “Subject” line no longer seems to accept entries - I can type in it but can only see the cursor moving - no text.
The Directional Scanner still has the range windows display issue.
The space the various new shiney boxes take up had to be increased to get the same amount of icons in that were displaying before to display.
Hi, I have only skimmed the other feedback so could be a duplicate, 3 issues come to mind:

The buttons for a station seem to limited to a minimum width; of which the actual minimum width could be a lot less.

I am sure its just a feature but the colors of the security system navigation points are very muted and its hard to discern between them.

Give an option for each TAB to behavior differently. For example a Intel channel - I want it flash/blink at me (like current UI ) but a market channel could be just not so obvious - as it is in the current photon UI.

If a window takes 2/3 of the screen, no thank you.
The Photon UI is great, except one annoyance that makes it impossible for me to enjoy the game: Some active items have maximum contrast and are TOO BRIGHT! Please either add UI Contrast slider or add and make use of a customizable UI Accent color.

New UI looks great! I have been playing this game since 2006 and as I get older I find myself struggling to differentiate neutrals in local and many other things.

First look so far is sooo good. I like the Idea and i like the Desing from it. Realy appreciate it
I like the overall aesthetic, but the scaling is so bad as to be unusable. Looking at something like the market window there is so much dead space at the top that the actual information you are looking for gets lost at the bottom. Setting my normal lower half of the screen I normally have a reasonable (5 or 6) orders visible both in the buy and sell category. In the new UI, I get 4 and 2 because of the dead space. This is repeated in other windows, sometimes with buttons that stack and push actual information off or squeeze it to uselessness. It also appears that you’re using the same old kludgy tiles to display information that simply don’t scale with the window. I’m still using 1080p, so maybe this isn’t the resolution you’re designing for, but it’s just not useful as is.
Compact mode is completely useless for in station inventory. When setting up industrial jobs I use multiple containers and corp hangars, moving items to the proper locations to start jobs and placing completed items in their places for distribution. Switching to compact mode just seems to strip everything away except for a list of what is in the location you’re looking at… without even telling you in the header or somewhere what location that is. The theme of simply stripping away useful information while leaving those godawful huge buttons in place seems to be repeated everywhere I’ve looked, but inventory was where it struck me as the most restrictive.
I really like the basic look, and looking forward to further development… but SUPER glad we can revert to the classic UI. I’ll try it again next time I see a dev blog on it.
Photon UI is great so far
Only complaint is that the size of the buttons (Approach, Warp, Dock etc) changes randomly, usually when I’m clicking to loot a wreck, so I end up accidentally starting to Orbit instead of Open Cargo.
If the buttons stayed the same size/location I’d be perfectly happy.
Please change in-station Undock button and Board My Corvette. I don’t really need to board a corvette and it’s too easy to hit that button rather than the undock button.
I like that you highlight the active window but I don’t care for the staticy looking background when the window is highlighted (this is supposed to be the ultra modern future not the 1950’s).
Text looks better but there are still letters butting against each other.

Just tried it.
Too big, UI scaling not working well, and too shiny. Feels like just another useless novelty.
Old UI is so much better.
Seems this new UI is just the same as the old, without lines, that are helpful for the eyes, so this new UI is harder to watch.
I hope we can keep the old UI.
PS.: tried again, and yes. It’s really made by people who not playing the game. Just like NPE…
I seem to get a wierd turquoise/teal afterglow inside the station at Jita when browsing the market for supplies - rotating the camera around sporadically seems to get rid of it for a short time but then it comes back. Can include a dxdiag if you want.
