Player Bounties & Killrights temporarily disabled

So i presume you know how much salvaged modules a heaven produces. How much tritnium certain modules reprocess into or how much you need for making ships? Assming that someone doesnt know what they are talking about because you doesnt seems kind of stupid. But whatever suits you.

So you telling me that you know a Caracal takes about 400k tritanium. Or that a salvaged 500m MWD gives around 55k tritanium. Because obviously you know all these numbers. And its so redundant that no one will ever do it. Or that a heaven drops 1-2 500mn MWD and thats only if im looking at mwds.

From what i would imagine, its an ‘either/or’ mechanic. Either it’s on for the cluster or it’s off. Don’t forget… POS code, right? This could be a short term band-aid until they understand the relationship between bounties and tidi. If it works, they might be able to make a solution that turns it off locally in node reinforced mode. If not, back to normal I guess.

Show me how many nullsec fleets worth of Feroxes you’ve built with rat drops and I’ll start to care about your opinion.

As I wrote, I was in TiDi fights, first of all the massive ones don’t escalate in 1 second. There was at a time an option to actually call for a node reinforcement because of a possible escalation.

There were already a lot of complains that this system is not helping enough. Redesign a new system which is totally separate from that Client-Server constant query. Deploy it in live. Disable the old system.
If disabling the old system reduces the TiDi, everyone wins: the big blocks can have their massive fights, the HS population has their system in place. If it doesn’t work, they will have to find a different solution, but a better system is put in place for HS.
At the moment, the only people who might gain are the big blocks, screw the HS.

Yeah. Exactly. Look, tidi is probably the worst way to handle cramming 6000+ players into a single fight… except for literally every other method they’ve tried. Tidi itself is a kludge, and it’d be awesome if it wasn’t necessary. It’d also be awesome if they re-coded EVE’s backbone to allow more dynamic load-shifting so the whole cluster slows down 0.0001% of each current percent of tidi. And it’d be just as awesome if there was a war system that allowed for complex interactions instead of what amounts to CONCORD corruption fueling law-immune gank-fests (cuz the ‘revised’ wardec system still falls about a billion LY short). Or hell, if they’d coded this trigshit so it made sense, and wasn’t just a rehash of the short-sighted mistakes of the Rorqual overhaul1.

They really need to do all those things, and fix all those things. This is temporary, we’re told. 30 days. Let’s see if this prompts them to get off their butts with those fixes, or if it’s just one more thing to point to the next time they spend an hour on stream saying ‘You have to trust us’ and ‘go ahead, quit. You’ll be back’.

I mean, if they’re gonna fix any of it, they gotta start somewhere, right?

1. Remember Rorquals? That thing that Fozzie openly said ‘yeah, we know it’s overpowered, but we’ll just tune it down later’? That blatant cash-grab to get people to use extractors/injectors to get into Rorqs, and so get people to spend real-world money to get the extractors in the first place? Yeah. The new regions are that: short-sighted ‘eh, screw actually doing it right, let’s just do it and make a lot of noise about how awesome it is’.

CCP threw an event and told everyone ‘your choices matter!’, but what’s it gotten? People who made one choice got a whole bunch of new krabbing options, with no negative repercussions in normal space. People who made the other choice got… bupkis. Nada. New sites? Nah. New missions? Nope. The ability to explore the new space? HAH.

Good job, CCP, you’ve given players months of stress trying to defend space in New Eden, and rewarded them with absolutely nothing. Hell, you can’t even make the EDENCOM ships any good.

Lmao, that’s not how it works.

You need to submit a fleet fight notification to CCP at least a day in advance (for the node to be reinforced at downtime). You can’t just ping CCP as the cynos are going up and demand that they reinforce a node on the spot.

we’re telling you that we know we can make over 400m isk per hour running HAVENS (not ‘heaven’) in supers. why would we bother stopping to salvage when the return on them is so low?
The 10/10’s that escalate are still not worth running, easier to sell to dedicated ded runners.
but you keep playing your way, while we blast through a haven every 5 minutes or so.

“the return is so low” I can salvage up to 1,2b worth or crap after smarbomb machariels in in around 35-40 site. And a site is aprox 4 minutes for the machariels. Its actually a bit longer process because the tractors work quiet slow. Overall the 40 site takes about 3-4 hours to salvage/loot. Low return.

This is exactly what iv been talking about. You guys have no idea how much mineral there is in 0.0 without mining

And getting the pre-req for Scapmetal Processing skill at L1 takes over 1month :))

Ok, so…

This is a hell of a lot more than a haven, or even a dozen havens, will produce. Please notice you get 4.49M Trit from all of that, and that the stuff getting reprocessed is only about 3/4 on the window.

This is how much in materials a single ferox requires (not researched up, obviously, but the variation isn’t that big). 2.5M Trit.

So after a large number of Havens, you might make 2 Feroxes. TWO! YAAAAY!

Pyerite? 667k needed, we’re getting… 1.6… 2!
Mex? 194k, and we get… 580k! YAY! We’ll get… 2!

Yeah, you go on with your bad self, you’re not going to compete with actual miners.

It’s not a “machiavelli” answer. Killrights in HS are a mechanic that many players don’t know much about and have no real experience with. They aren’t a selling factor for the game, and the niche gameplay that includes them is just that - niche.

On the other hand, these massive fleet fights that generate international news headlines, break Guinness world records and are constantly used to get new players interested in the game have a direct impact on CCP’s bottom line and on players deciding they want to play EVE. One of the big criticisms of those fights is that they are plagued with problems, like disconnects, lag, and issues with unresponsive clients. Fixing that is critical to the long term health of the game because there are tens of thousands of players who play the game FOR those fights, were brought here by the promise of those fights, etc.

Nobody is playing EVE because of the bounty system. It’s an anachronism that is mostly pointless, confuses more new players than entices them, and just doesn’t do what it was supposed to do. So turning this off, along with killrights, to gather data in the middle of a big war where we’ve had three 4000+ character fights in the last week alone, including one that broke the old world record, so they can get good data to determine if the bounty system really is causing problems is exactly what we should want CCP to do.

We don’t need them to spend the resources to make a new system if they don’t have to, and in the end, there are far more people who will potentially be impacted positively if turning this off helps make those fights more stable than will be negatively impacted by the temporary test.

And, by the way, I’ve heard zero complaints from anybody in INIT or my corp about this change.

That is the furthest thing from what you get from wrecks. That is about 2 heavens worth of loot. I dont even know why i have to explain any of this if you have no insight of how it works or what the returns are.
Or acting like tehre is only a single person in the whole game who could be doing it now that they introduced resource distribution 2.0

Hang on, lemme go browbeat Erroch into complaining at you… probably about me browbeating him into complaining… :smirk:

LOL, his literal response to seeing this in the patch notes was “It’s about time.”

Yeah, I’ve done Haven salvaging, in Delve, in Branch, in Pure Blind, trailing a noctis with MTUs behind my carrier. That’s a hell of a lot more than ‘2 heavens[sic] worth of loot’.

That don’t mean I can’t get him to complain at you about something!

I’d really like to see your proof of that.
