Player Structure Open Cargo Deposit Exploit & Asset Safety

Can we have ACLs on this, as it’s a well-known exploit to remove risks of losing loot in Low Sec and Null.

Having an ACL removes the ability to deposit exploration, ESS, and PVP loot from hostile space using existing gaming mechanics, which avoids risk (cost isn’t risk).

This is what blockade runners and or fast nimble ships should be used for and should kick off some thought process on when I need to extract (phat loot in hull) as opposed to dropping it into a hostile station (non npc).

A feature that you have to pay for is “an exploit”… because you personally don’t like it…. marvelous.

The exploit/unintened feature is the Cargo Deposit without a ACL to do so is what is in question not Asset Safety.

that was implemented IIRC, to curtail contract scamming.

Isnt that still related to Asset Safety?

When you goto a Player Structure anywhere in Eve universe you can use the Cargo deposit function without docking. This is the feature that should have a ACL on it so only those that are allowed to dock can use it.

Asset safety is not the issue

Then it should work only to deliver contract packages, not any item.

Neither Asset Safety nor Cargo Deposit are the issue here: Upwell Structures are.

Dropping items within a dockable structure you are not allowed to dock in should be

limited to courier-wrapped items only.

This fixes the exploit.

Upwell Structures are here to stay, it is futile to keep arguing against them.

What we can ask for is that CCP fixes obvious exploits like dropping loot safely in hostile structures in the deposit box that was made for couriers, and then using asset safety to teleport the stuff safely to an accessible NPC station.

Interesting, thanks Gerald, I didn’t know that was one of the reasons for the Cargo Deposit.
Yes basically an unintended feature for raiders who are supposed to use Wormholes, Gates or Filaments to get their loot out.
