Halving the price (and thereby supply) of PLEX and halving the price of everything doesn’t really solve the core issues. It’s like applying a bandaid to a severed limb…

The starter packs (silver, gold, platinum) offered some really good deals. In addition to Omega time, they have SP, accelerators and 10x extractors on the platinum.
I can’t remember the details but someone worked out on Reddit that the platinum package ended up working out to something like 1.27 billion ISK/month for 3 months for Omega (after selling the extractors).

To be honest, I know many of these games “feel out” the boundaries where players will stop buying their game currency. As long as Plex continues to sell for cash, they will allow the increase of it in the ISK market. After all this is in their best interest. When it hits 10 or 12 million they might have a 50% off Plex sale. This will tempt new players to buy it and convert it to ISK and those hoarding their Plex will quickly dump it on the market as the price will drop. Judging by the history given, I seriously doubt the Plex will ever see 5 million again. As long as players continue to panic buy Plex the price will continue to rise.

In fact there are 3 reasons why this situation is good for CCP.
- The one that was already discussed: potentially higher PLEX sale for $ as it provides more value.
- Re-distribution of ISK.
- Some players who were PLEXing the account may be forced to buy Omega when PLEX price goes up.

You have to complete the Winter Nexus event track (1350 points). Click on the Flag icon (lower left) in your Necom. There are combat, mining and exploration sites to complete for points.

And here we go again (15-20% Omega sale in the NES). PLEX is already past 6.6m and still climbing… There’s a good chance it breaks 7m before the end of the sale on Dec 24 (some are thinking 8m!)
I think 9.6m-10m for PLEX by this time next year is entirely possible.

The key words here are “up to”. It’s a no-brainer to save 20% on Omega in the NES if you have the PLEX and need the Omega time. You have to purchase a minimum 1000 PLEX for $ to get the 20%.

Because EVE speculators don’t spend much time on wall street. They like to buy high and try to sell higher.
The prices will drop back again by tomorrow and then keep a steady decline until the end of the sale.

I think we’ll see 7m before Xmas. After that, it might pull back a bit before the end of the year - but I think 6m will be the new base threshold going forward.
