[Pochven] Clarity on change to Observatory Flashpoints made in 20.11

R.i.p Pochven looks like everybody has to make their own isk now.

To be clear, CCP didn’t do any substantial changes to Pochven since the Pochven responsible team was dissolved 2 years ago shortly after the Invasion story ended. They adapted the rules around flashpoints and NPCs (supposedly “numbers in the database” ), and added some scan sites with strange and unbalanced mechanics, crap reward, never iterated on and nobody does.

The sad thing is, this didn’t change. This recent “fix” again is just a “number in the database”, and shows that there is still zero will to commit resources to Pochven. All CCP is proud of now are the locusts simulating an eco system with killboard stats. Once the locusts are moving elsewhere nothing is left than scorched earth.

There is still a chance, fix the rest of the Pochven content, fix the LP store, make standings matter again (maybe require high Edencom standing for some stuff? :stuck_out_tongue: ). Purge the locusts. Diversity and plenty of spreaded content is the key for a real eco system, where all kind of people have multiple reasons to be out in space.

The Pochven was the only place in the game where there were more or less fair fights on marauders in small formats. And they only existed because the players could afford them. Now it will become the same forgotten place as terra, there is no point in going there anymore.

The flashpoint sites brought a lot of people into Pochven, and it became a solid generator of PVP activity - any day you look at https://br.evetools.org/ you’ll see fights in Pochven. People in the community were praising CCP for what they created. Even those in smaller groups who hate nullblocs, would admit it’s a great content generator.

And, now it’s gone!

This is a good balanced change. Null blocs and other big groups in Pochven are mainly there due to the ISK printing, and this balance will likely reduce some of those populations in the region.

It is a balance move. The game was unbalanced as it was.

They know, they just don’t care. They went there because it IS unbalanced, the rest is just :words: trying to change public/CCP opinion.

Galaxy brain change to kill the most active pvp region in the game. Why don’t the good folks at CCP give themselves a big pat on the back for this one?

So the inhabitants of the second most destructive region in the game, behind only The Forge, are risk averse krabbers? That makes sense in your head?

Good job CCP, maybe there can be more focus then just go do OBS now. Plenty to do in pochven if you an actual local not these pretend Bois whining. In the end Zorya provides those worthy

They’re grind bears, mostly from null when ccp nerfed the grinding there. They didn’t go to pochven for the pvp (otherwise they’d been there already, wouldn’t be part of a massive null block to hide in and wouldn’t cry about the changes “threatening” to leave) but pvp is an integral part of securing the income.

A good change that arrived late, but better late than never.

The salt will flow, wich is odd as they have already made isk in the trillions there…

I don’t even spend much time in Pochven to benefit and even I am annoyed by this change. I mean, I get wanting to increase the timer, but to 90 minutes??? CCP, you are out of your damn mind. You liked the “destruction and engagement,” that this caused. But your change will eliminate the “destruction and engagement,” altogether.

Perhaps it’s a cultural thing, but you all seem like the most sado-masochistic, bunch of developers I have ever seen, and that is coming from one (me). You just can’t stand people having fun, making isk, and generally being successful in this game. I love the game but your fascist approach to making changes is irritating as ■■■■.

Most of the groups in Poch right now HAVE been there from the early days.

You have ZERO idea what the hell you are talking about. Trillions are surely being made, but those trillions are being split amongst multiple fleets of 20-30 or more over time, running constantly. Some very active individual players are making “billions” yes, but there are many other activities that you can do in this game that are just as profitable. The only difference here is the relative safety (of both numbers, and geography) that they do it in.

You’re just bitter because you don’t have a group with which you can also benefit. The only people that think this is a good change are the ones not actually participating in the content.

For the record, I do support an increase in the timers, maybe 20 minutes at most, not 90.

You’re seriously arguing that just because timers exist in other parts of the game therefore it can’t possibly be a bad thing to add a timer in to OBFS? Despite the fact that none of the activities you listed require fleets, and none of them are drivers of PvP content AT ALL let alone the biggest driver of PvP content in the region. Just ignore all of the nuances and intricacies, slap a timer on that bad boy and everything’s good to go, right?

Easy ISK? Do you have any idea what you need in order to run Flashpoints? Have you ever run them?

Why is it so hard for people like you to understand that OBFs were the DRIVER of PvP content in the region? That is the reason that even the people who are primarily there FOR the PvP and don’t care as much about the ISK are still infuriated by this change. Saying “BuT yOU cAn sTilL pVP iN tHe rEgiON” is just as disingenuous as saying “But you can still PvP in Drone lands, why aren’t people going to Drone lands just so they can PvP? If you’re not there for the ISK, why does it matter that there are no ISK faucets in the region?”

ISK faucets drive content. PvPers go where the content is. Now that this ISK faucet has been reduced to a couple of drips per hour, the content will dry up and the PvPers will be left with nothing to fight over. It isn’t that hard to understand why this is such a terrible change and all of the shitposters happy about “harvesting salt from krabs” completely fail to understand this very basic fact.
