Independent cogitations and ruminations going on as we speak, kind of all around the world. Well more likely, across an ocean and on a couple of continents and island nations/cities in between.
Well, the bold strategy didnāt entirely pay off. But it did get the wheels moving faster. One judge asked for one more week, and since heās a professional Eve fiction writer, thatās a request weād better honor. So, weāre looking at finishing up the weekend of December 9-10.
I have all the time in the world to wait, really, so no rush on my part.
Thereās a lot of stories to read and hasnāt this contest traditionally always stretched a bit due to RL punching people in the face?
Yeah, delays in judging kind of became a tradition after the first year. That year we got 101 stories, and they were pretty much all right around 5,000 words long. A lot of reading for the judges, but well worth it.
Thanks for the update
Well the weekend of December 9-10 has passedā¦ and weāre not done judging yet. But the judges made some really substantial progress. Weāre getting there.
Any update @Telegram_Sam?
The judges have now carefully scrutinized, appraised, enjoyed, and scored the stories, and pronounced them āGood.ā The clerk-scrivener will now check and double-check the rankings, then publish the results on December 20 (Eve server time).
Iām on pins and needles!
