Note: I initially submitted a ticket and the GM’s reply suggested I post this here (and possibly the CSM forums as well).
Anyway, after declining too many missions from an agent while doing burners, my standings with this agent dropped below -2 (currently at -2.11) and she stopped offering me missions.
I hovered my cursor over the speech balloon symbol near the agent’s name on my Interactions tab, and it says the following: “Kiljavas Yaskasen will only provide you missions if you have a standing of at least 5.0 from her corp or faction towards you and neither of them below -2.0.”
The thing is that the standings from her corp and faction to me are 5.04 and 6.58, respectively.
When I submitted a ticked, the initial reply I got from a GM was the following: “The standings towards the Agent has dropped below the requirement and thus they will no longer offer you any missions. You can attempt to try and fix it with other missions, however it might no longer be possible to do missions for this particular Agent.”
My point is that the in-game text is misleading. It clearly states that the agent will only provide me missions if I have a standing of at least 5.0 from her corp or faction towards me and neither below -2.0. As it is written, this “neither” seems to refer to “corp” or “faction”, not the agent herself.
For example, it suggests that even if I have standings of, say, 5.5 with her faction, but -2.5 with her corp, she wouldn’t offer me a mission, even if I had standings of 9 with this agent. Similarly, if I have standings of 5.5 with her faction, but -1.9 with her corp, she’d offer me a mission as both are above -2.0 and at least one of them is above 5. Again, going by the way the text is written, there is nothing suggesting the personal standings (between me and the agent) interfere on this.
By the looks of it, it seems that this agent will no longer offer me any mission (I have no idea how I’d fix personal standings in a way that doesn’t involve the agent offering me a mission). So, the way I see it is that I get permanently locked out of some content due to a poorly written, misleading text.
Is there something that can be done about it?
