My immersion would be broken by 100% safety. I like travelling around high sec and having to make assessments on the route and make decisions to minimise my risk.
Why is your immersion more important than mine?
EDIT: And id add you cant really separate the two. You cant say making this change fixes an issue with immersion and then completely ignore the consequences of that change and how it breaks other things in game……namely the economy.
Yes, that’s because all my time in high sec (was in high sec up until the 2020s) rarely resulted in combat. Even when I was in the militia, based out of Dammalin and Rens.
Thus, avoiding ganks for 10+ years. There is your proof.
The fact of the matter is that 20 years of lore would need to be retconed to suit what you are proposing. And like i said…….since you are the only person I’ve ever seen bring this up why do you think that’s reasonable when it breaks so may other things?
But Carl Stonewall probably isn’t your first account nor is it a 3 week old account. Kind of hard to take someone seriously when they appear to lie about how long they have been playing.
Please leave my HS space just the way it is, gankers just keep me on my toes.
I dont have to read all lore in order to say that this scenario is breaking the immersion of living in a scientific fictional reality:
"Captain on ship surrounded by officers. Captain inspected the entire crew earlier. Officer says “we’ve seen a covetor on scanner. If we blow it up we will be obliterated and everyone but a few will die. Should we proceed sir?” “Whats the upside?” “The upside is that he understands its boring to mine”
As i said, im fully aware its a personal attack, and im sorry . But i still feel you are being dishonest in the most respectful way i can. It dosent make sense that you never got ganked if you were a industrailist in highsec.
The capsuleer sees a covetor. He tells engineering “ahead 180 m/s” and tells “MWD on” to Navigation crew. He tells weapons crew “fire”. They obey without question. The pilot in his capsule relays no information to his crew as police ships show up on grid. Everything goes up in flames, except the pod having been ejected. The crews are vaporized and the capsuleer floating in pod goo warps away.
