Potential Fix for WHers for the 500mn HIC

Prom queens don’t win by being attractive, neither do they win by factor of their intelligence.

This was the first thing I proposed. I do not know how long it would take to create this script or get it populated, and it also is something that is fundamentally weird for that class of ship because it just doesn’t make sense for the original purpose of the ship.

But I 100% brought this up in discussions today. And, as you noted, I can’t tell you what the response was, unfortunately.

I’m intrigued at this - how exactly do they win?

ironic. do you think there was a difference in the last 50 years of our political model, sure we had different presidents but being our entire system is broken, like Eve , does it really matter what nutjob is president or csm?

i mean, lol, try just changing the oil in an engine you blow 4 of the 8 cylinders out of… lmao

it wont fix it. the csm is broken, voting is broken, eve is broken, ccp sold eve anyway, im out, you all have a good time now. gtg back to reality again.

Fairly sure its just whichever has the biggest/most loyal clique, but that’s neither here nor there.

Anyway here are your options:

Release the change and make every competent wh group hate playing this game and dont give a ■■■■ like usual, because your proposal fixes nothing and shows you have no knowledge of why this is a bad change. Quite astounding.

Fix this properly with scripts and/or changing ship attributes and hold off on one of the worst changes in the game.

My vote will certainly balance out the thousands of goon-certified CSM picks. Stellar use of brain there. I voted on two accounts for representatives most likely to speak publicly to CCP and other CSM about interests pertaining to my gameplay, and there are more than enough slots to make sure every major portion of space gets their fair share out into the open. You either understand that the CSM is run mechanically as a popularity contest rather than an actual functioning body to represent issues on behalf of the largest possible cross-section of players and their interests, or you make insane zero-IQ posts like that.

I don’t see any reason why disallowing a 500MN MWD on a HIC would be a bad thing, seeing as how Lurch Hictors are quite literally the only reason to ever fit one, and they shouldn’t impact any other fit, correct me if i’m wrong. Can the change be made within two weeks? I don’t know, i’m not a developer and with the spaghetti that EVE code is said to be, I wouldn’t want to make any assumptions but i’d like to think that the CCP dev team has enough experience to be able to do so.

Ideally i’d like to keep rolling HICs, but if this is completely unfeasible, the Porpoise idea is at least better than nothing.

If rolling HICs do not need fixing, they do not need removal. Simple as that. Please relay this idea to the relevant parties.

If you cannot fix lurch HICs without breaking rolling HICs, then make lurch HIC use a bannable offense until you can hire decent developers.

I’m trying to find support for option 3 - provide another way to do what is already being done that can be done quickly and doesn’t involve yanking the proposed fix for the umpteenth time.

This is why we can’t have nice things.

A Porpoise. Interesting idea. Until you acutally look into the skills required to a Porpoise and line them up next to the skills required for a Rorqual.

Brisc is a Goon. Goons love Rorquals. Brisc suggests wormholers train into Porpoises. Porpoises are the first step on the long and dangerous road to Rorquals, thus wormholers train into Rorquals. Wormholers realise that mining in Rorquals is more fun that PvP. Wormholers look for the best place to mine in Rorquals. Wormholers realise that Goons are the best place to go to mine in Rorquals. All wormholers join Goons.

Do not fall for his trickery, fellow wormholers. This may seem like a potential solution to the problem we are now all facing, but, in reality, it is just Goons playing the long game in order to tighten their grasp on the New Eden.

Yank it, its so bad, its like if anoms spawned 10 times slower in nullsec, its such a bad change it blows my mind anyone can sit here and argue that its okay, and your fix is as bad as suggesting that highsec anoms spawn instead. Use your brain and actually realise this shits on so much of what is whs that it might as well kill it for some groups and users.

…What are you smoking, and where did you get it?

Why not have the warp disruption field generator apply a scrambled effect to the ship using it?

I don’t see how delaying the “fix” is an issue when it is clearly a poor implementation of said fix. A fix isn’t a good fix if it solves one problem but creates another major one. Blindly implementing changes just for the sake of it and hoping that you get around to fixing the new problem at some point is not a good way to do things.
I understand that you and others want the lurch HIC problem fixed, but it can’t come at the cost of others, especially not when it’s such a fundamental thing as rolling in wormholes.

This sounds like the decision has already been made by CCP and now we are just trying to run damage control after the house has already burnt down. It’s idiotic and if someone at CCP is reading this, understand that this is no way for a process to work. You don’t solve problems by creating more problems.
I also want to make it clear that I understand that you’re not the one making the decisions Brisc, but if you could relay to CCP that more transparency is needed. Announcing such a big change in a devblog without any input from the players is not acceptable.

do you actually have any idea what you’re talking about?

This is also a good, simple fix, and I don’t see why it hasn’t gained more traction.

Yes, I know rolling hics get brought out every 15th roll or something and I am not going to increase my chance by thousand of times because dumb nullsecers need to have their baby bottle patch now and not a month later. Its insulting to read the garbage spewed by people trying to damage control this.

So what, you’re just gonna write ‘those wormholes are complaining like always, but screw them, do it anyway’ in your little report?

Is the implication that I’m trolling or something by saying that removal of HIC rolling (or valid alternative that does not infringe on existing SP setups) will be a huge problem?

How is this a legitimate way to address player concerns? ‘This is why we can’t have nice things’? What do I have to do with not having nice things? Why don’t you go to the people who are directly responsible for HUGELY UNPOPULAR changes and tell them ‘This is why we can’t have nice things’. I sure am not the right address for comments such as that.
