Mechs would be good indeed, you could have them fighting on the outside of stations lol, well maybe if it was for inside eve that might be a bit too much… unless… it was just another vehicle pod pilots could use; but ye its sci fi, the sky is limitless in so many ways.

Its funny in some ways but quite sad in others. DUST 514 was a reasonable idea and the game had some very nice moments. It was plagued by being on the PS3, performance issues, frame rate issues and general bugs were by far the biggest thing holding the small but sometimes engaging game back.
All they really had to do as a first step was to migrate DUST over to the pc so it can be played from a baseline without the performance issues. Balance was the next topic but thats fairly simple to address. From there they could have grew the game on PC and potentially intergrated it more to EVE (you know the big thing that CCP always talked about). Using the engine on PC they could have created exploration areas and social hubs, kinda like we wanted to see with walking in stations way back when.
Its a shame because I think the idea could have had so much promise. Ah well.

Yes, the concept itself wasn’t bad - although they could have added perhaps a bit more spice to it than ‘just another shooter, but EVE-like’. It was just the execution and the odd platform and marketing choices that failed.
Sadly, poor execution and odd marketing choices seem to be the one thing you can rely on CCP to reliably implement.

CCP is lost. They used to be gamers with a vision of this grand ruthless sandbox.
But now its just another corporate entity, hiring rando’s who have no clue. They’ve taken this ruthless sandbox and turned it into a nerf room with padded walls and limits on how high you can stack your nerf balls.

Unbelievable that you are witnessing that players leave the game in masses and still you play the ‘everything that ccp does is right’ and ‘everybody that dares to criticize the way this game goes can leave this game because they simply don’t understand how great this game is’ card…
You HAVE to admit that people leaving the game in masses is not the fault of the leavers but the fault of ccp not seeing what is wanted…and yes WHAT is wanted by 9/10 of all IS mainstream and EXACTLY THIS is what CCP HAS to do or this game is doomed…

And ‘mainstream’ is a 2/3 majority for every game on the market but if ccp continues this course all that will be left in a short period of time will be the 5k of ‘all is in order’ guys that will not be far enough to keep this game alive…
