You are very welcome You should issue you it to yourself ingame. Ill even pay for it.
Scam Citizen opened a new era. Up until a few years back, we lived in era of unfinished games gated by paid pre planned DLC’s. Now welcome to the crowdfunding era. Where the blame is going to fall on the backers whenever they stop buying those 27000$ ship packs. Hey, we want you to be part of fully developing our game and that means you are going to pay us at least for 5 years of screwing around, before we decide we bail. And screw you, our TOS weve just modified last week says donations are not refundable. Or since Scam Citizen already proved, if you keep your alpha game module long enough, people will start seeing it as an actual finished release. Either way, win win. Crowdfounding. Or who needs a finished game when you can just setup an obscene functional cash shop free on crowdfunding and laugh at the plebs who think mobile gaming has whales.
Your problem is that you don’t like this new approach and spit your dislike out into the world openly.
No logic,no proof just the pure dislike.
And that’s so typical for people that simply don’t get that 7 years of production for a game is simply not new to the gaming industry.
It has happened to more games than you may think and it will happen to future games to come…
Any critic on this is simply stupid.
7+ years is new?
…
No. No one ever has claimed that in this thread either. Balos is busy charging at strawmen.
People have however said that 7+ years is unusual and quite long. Not a standard. And presented the top 10 longest games in development which covers 7 years to make games.
I am sincerally worried about you Balos. What is happening to you, is it the booze, drugs or perhaps sleep deprivation? I am here for you buddy if you need to talk about it. You will always have a friend in me.
Dunno why they dont create some sort of mini ground unit based tactical game rts style, i think it would be popular and would tie in well with facwar, incursions and pi and moons
If you say so
Mostly because they don’t seem to possess any truly creative individuals anymore, just tweakers and modifiers.
To fund EVE, creative types at CCP created “Danger Game”. Apparently still popular in Iceland today. That’s the sort of creativity they need and no longer have.
Sounds like you’re describing a sort of EVE-tech “Command and Conquer”, or “Army Men” or maybe even “Company of Heroes” type game. I think they could also have a shot, if they had to do a shooter, with some sort of ‘pod-in-a-machine’ concept where soldiers fight in various combat chassis - from exoskeleton to Ed-209 type to mech type. Sort of like “Supreme Commander 2” gone FPS. Then they’d at least have some differentiation in the marketplace. Something more than “It’s like every other shooter, but worse. With all the clumsiness and poor performance you’ve come to expect from CCP as a bonus”.
They had a shot at something creative with World of Darkness, but they did what the current management usually does: mismanaged the project, spent a lot of time working on poorly defined ideas which they then wiped clear and started over again and again, hijacked the staff to prop up EVE development shortfalls, cancelled the project, laid everybody off and sold the company,
If you can’t design, and you can’t project-manage, and you can’t ensure working code gets produced, it doesn’t matter what side project you take on. It’s a failure before it ever starts.
