Just throw the whole high sec pvp in the trashbin of mmog history where it belongs…

Times have changed ,today pvp happens in special areas like low and 0.0 in eve,THERE it can still happen but everywhere else it is still not wanted by the mainstream…

And PA will reconstruct this game to mainstream slowly that is for sure if CCP wants it or not…

Where did you get this pussified philosophy? World of Warcraft? Gross…

The fact that most people aren’t cut out to play EVE Online is not a controversial opinion, it’s general concensus. Most of us (including the devs) prize that aspect of this game.

It’s a feature, not a bug. Get over it already.

Haven’t you ever tried to get one of your friends into EVE only to discover that they’re simply not cut out for it?

I assure you that I have no reason to want to feel superior to some of my best friends. I would love for them to play with me, but they can’t. It’s just a simple, objective fact that they aren’t cut out for what this game demands. It doesn’t make them any less than me, but it’s not the game’s fault, either.

This is just another way of saying “EVE’s been taken over by bullies! WAHHH!!!1 Noobies should be safe, just like every other game! WAHH!111!”

Edit: An Example:
I have this friend, nicest, coolest guy. Pours concrete for a living. He’s no intellectual slouch, and he’s a nerd like myself who enjoys Magic: The Gathering, etc.
Bless his heart, the poor guy just can’t keep straight hundreds of thousands verses millions verses billions. I think it’s the zeros that trip him up, maybe some sort of mild dyslexia, I don’t know.

But the guy had to come to terms with the fact that you can’t really play EVE while going around overpaying for things by orders of magnitude.

Do I point this out to demean the guy? Hell no. Do I observe this fact merely to make myself feel superior? Give me a break…

Not everyone can play EVE, get over it.

I have. My mate Haggis was bored of playing various MMO type games over the years and wanted something challenging and different so I suggested Eve; telling up front that he’s going to die at the hands of another player at some point. He considers himself to be somewhat of a hardcore gamer and ok with that.

Long story short 3 months in he’s mining and gets ganked by a rapscallion from Code.

He logged out and never logged back in, when he started bitching at me about it later in the week I said where were you when you died? On the loo was the answer.

I shook my head sadly and said to him what did I say about going AFK in Eve?

I said he probably has a learning disability, man. By your twisted logic does that make him lesser? Do you feel this way about all disabled people? That they are less than you?

Spin it any way you like, but being disabled literally means that you are unable to do something.

What, are you gonna say that with the right attitude and the right help he could have been an EVE player? (That’s some condescending **** right there, but I digress…)

He’s not the kind of guy who can ask strangers for help with this kind of thing. It would be exposing too much of himself. It’s also not the kind of thing I can just give him a crash course on, he couldn’t keep the numbers straight. Do you get that? It also very much frustrated him when he found out he was being scammed for 10X or 100X the value of his stuff.

So he just stopped playing, even though he was pretty into it. I don’t fault him for it, do you?

If you fault the game for it, you need to explain what the devs could have done to help my buddy out here. :avocado:

P.S. This is an example of the carebear tears we were talking about earlier.

This is a reason why you are not desirable customer for PA, and why they will get rid of you and other like you.

Bye, have a nice life.

Lucky me! CCP still administrate EVE Online…

:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

I hope you tried to sell him a mining permit after that  who was the ganker?

Admiral Root IIRC

Oh so in your society of internet weirdos the blind are made to see and the paralyzed to walk?

I think this boils down yet again to the fact that you’d sooner gut EVE than exclude anyone. Okay, Lucas, we got it, thanks.

This is you telling him that he had the wrong attitude and/or was doing it wrong. (just like I said you would) Completely condescending people with real disabilities and denying the facts of reality anyone who’s not being an obtuse butthurt carebear can freely tell you: Not everyone can do the things you can do. Get over it.

Ahmm, and what’s the weather like in La La Land? :avocado:

Could not be bothered quoting a bunch of retarded crap, so I shall say thusly.

Whatever.

And your projection and assumptions are laughable, you do not know how my gamestyle is or anything else, but carry on white knighting, tbh I could not care less what CCP does.

But please carry on

Since 2007 I’ve never trusted anyone or any corporation in Eve, just kept my head down, training, and grinding missions. I knew I couldn’t do much until I got Isk and could fly decent ships. Still solo today.

I had never played any MMORPG until Eve. I now wonder, just what do those other games do to instill a sense of trusting gullibility? The OP may have a point so some degree, and I have been butthurt on occasion, only to realize I should have been more careful. Lesson learned (many very expensive) and fly on.

Did I go to the forums and gripe? No. But I do know that new players of a tender age may have higher expectations of safety. I’m willing to bet they’ve played a lot of FPS stuff, so I say to them: In Eve, you are the one in the crosshairs, and don’t ever, ever forget that.

They whine just as much in FPS games.

The regular chat in BF4 still looks like this:

“Blah shotgun noob”
“Blah M320 noob”
“Blah FLIR noob”
“Blah Mortar noob”
“Blah RPG noob”
“Blah stop using flashbangs”

No matter how people get defeated they will find an excuse and blame the person who has beaten them. No matter which type of game it is. The times where people actually congratulate their opponent for playing well and trying to get better are long gone. After all whining is much easier than spending hours, months or even years with training to get better.

You forgot the most generic yet most common blanket statement:

Hacker!

Which is an obvious admission of total defeat and that you feel godlike and impossible compared to the accuser’s skill level. :smirk: :sunglasses:

Yes, shame on me for not mentioning that one :).

To be fair, these are mostly children, but it does still tell us what dark times are in front of us.

EVE is a very easy game once you follow this very simple rule

“Spend as less ISK as possible”

Expensive stuff are overvalued anyway, I have lost 50 ships with a total loss of 500 mil and half of that is two expensive ships, and that is in the time span of one year.

About a week ago there was a guy bragging in Rookie about how he injected 80 mil SP and linked some clown fits (lol expensive but still subpar). He kept spamming and being annoying so I’ve been keeping an eye on him (for more reasons than one).

So far he lost 26 bil in one week, he has 1 bil in kills but that’s mostly one Loki ( in which he lost his ship), the rest is all silliness. I’m surprised his new alliance hasn’t kicked him yet.

This morning he decided it would be a great idea to solo Tama in his 4 bil Kronos with a 4 bil pod.
