Heed my words none the less. Doubly so if you’re in a position to influence new bros.
Id be interested to see some posts with evidence about some agents targeting new players.

I dont think CCP really cares so much about balancing game economy now, especially when its run by player means. The law of demand and supply. If people will see that its not really profitable to produce stuff, they will do something else, like steal stuff from others using their own stuff. Or start destroying others stuff where its possible, like null or low sec.
But of course there should be some kind of method to remove structures from high sec. We have NPC stations anyway, so people can use those.
They kinda have to. Balance is essential for a healthy game. Maybe without their in house economist things have become more difficult but they are still very much aware of the role of the market and isk flow.
Recent topics have been the cost of pirate battleships, the rorqual and it’s multiple nerfs, carrier ratting, compression and moon ore, capitals in hi-sec. These are just off the top of my head.
Well, I think they wouldnt make all those changes in the first place like rorquals or carrier changes if they would care much. The main driving factor for them I think is just how much they are able to earn monthly, annually, so economy by other means, like milking a cow.
They care, but I dont think they will do everything to not get more conversions. They will want to boost player numbers, and their earnings.
Nonono, they have to care. There is no choice!
A perfectly safe highsec would be devastating! The mere illusion of suicide gankers and player killerd being everywhere is a big part of the balancing factor! Case in point is the people’s fear of getting killed after turning suspect from running abyssals.
There are, in no way or form, enough people paying attention/willing to hunt and kill spread around the cluster enough to make those who die the rule, instead of an exception. Throughout the vast majority of the day!
When you remove that illusion, plex will skyrocket and prices for everything would be falling, just because there’d be a massive influx of bears and alts, both with irrational fear of players in a video game, who’d only come to farm, without caring about the game itself!
The psychological barrier can not ever be underestimated!
It’s this irrational fear that makes these people post in the first place!
Carriers have always been insane ratters and null has been the source of the vast majority of bounties for a long time. But the question of how to make carriers less effective at ratting but still do their thing in pvp doesn’t have an obvious answer.
With the rorqual you may be right. Apparently fozzie knew it was too much to start with. And even after nerfs mineral prices are significantly lower. But i have to ask, how much is that the rorqual? And how much is goons crazy good organisation and infrastructure?
That’s the one thing that can’t be nerfed, the power in the organisation of a group such as goons far outweighs the “physical” power that they can bring to bear in-game. The same goes for gankers, they can only do what they do because they’re organised as a group.
Organisation is a force multiplier, one that the Romans used to great success, being well disciplined soldiers vs individual warriors.
Post not aimed at you BTW, that’d be like preaching to the perverted. I merely expanded on the point.
Well, maybe that is what CCP seen as feasible thru 15 years, maybe they will stay on that course.
But at the same time they may consider some other means of balancing, but I consider it as a faint possibility.
And about making High sec perfectly safe… naaah, they are not gona do it ever I think, people will have to get some interaction, some risks, some actual loses while playing game, because it matters, even in high sec. Just they will think about making people more reactive, more attentive, to stay longer to experience kind of balance between everything what happens to them. Maybe also throwing in some life improvements like those social corps people talk about.
I’m all for social corps and I keep saying that even more types of corps are needed, to give society a proper structure the governing entity, CCP, can work with!
To give people the ability to pick options within their capabilities, so they themselves can balance risk and reward, instead of a binary all-or-nothing choice. I’m also for restricting corporation creation for the same reason, because it is dumb to let every clueless shitter run a corp from day one! That hurts the game, because new players can be pushed out by clueless, or wannabe-leader type of CEOs.
Players should be forced to do the work first (learning how to run a corporation by joining one first and being an active member with goals and ideas) to be able to create one with an actual outlook into the future!
Yes that is true, but Blizzard found a way to use that force FOR the game, not AGAINST the game, now ccp must learn that lesson too.
So did CCP, you just don’t like it because it conflicts with what you desire from a game.
You see, in the end you will be on unliked side
Idk
I think people prefer players that actually play the game over random QQing forum alts

The “economy” will adapt…it always has…
bottom line
Lol. Oh it will adapt - by crashing through the floor removing all meaning for a huge number of players who only play this game to build things. There is a reason CCP kept an economist on staff for so long, and a reason a healthy economy is front of mind for most of the new game changes CCP does. A huge number of people play this game to interact primarily with the unique economic simulator that is Eve Online.
This game needs destruction to keep going. CCP has failed at creating enough of it and the effects of it are clearly evident in the high PLEX prices and difficulty for newer players to get into the industrial game. My view is that it is this - the faltering economy - that is a major, if not primary, problem with the game right now keeping new entrants out and decreasing the player numbers. It is harder than ever for a newer player to break into the industrial scene. Years ago, you could PLEX an account in a few hours of work, even as a newer player. Now, only the most organized and connected players can do so, and the alpha experience just isn’t compelling enough to keep people logging in long term. Too much production, not enough destruction.
Eve and its economy are on a knife’s edge right now, and I worry a complete fail cascade is just over the horizon. Sure, the game won’'t die even in this scenario and the economy will adapt, but it will be a much less vibrant game, with many fewer players.
Newbies aren’t the problem: it is the veterans who exploit all the safety and wealth CCP has shoved into the game because “think of the children” starving it of content and undermining the meaning of the game for short-term gain. The sad thing is that many at CCP see this, but are unable to find the courage to do what is necessary to ensure the long-term health of the game.
Oh well.
And game will be changed to adopt to year 2018. There is no more year 2003.
