Would be nice to actually know that number. How much of them in null, low, high, etc.

Also if some of them leave, that will make competition get more clients, its a balancing action, as less stuff will be produced, the prices will be adjusted again. Supply and demand.

Care to take a bet? I’m sure you have some stuff left. Just say some concrete change you expect.

Also for you, care to take a bet. You sound so sure about those changes. Tell us what exactly will change and if I disagree we make a bet. Or are you just talking?

Yup I am just talking , and waiting,

Time will tell

How long will you wait? Well at least we know now you don’t believe that bs yourself

The game will probably be dead before he gets what he so desperately craves :joy:

Talking indeed, but not through your mouth.

Perhaps EVE might become a bit more like BDO in terms of PVP but that still won’t be enough change for the carebears.

Or BDO may become a bit more like EVE. They bought CCP for their expertise and IP and not to teach them how to make a game better after all.

Maybe I should reserve fisherbumping.com

they bought CCP for Serenity.

Easy to believe lies when it’s what you want to hear.

Common sense dictates that buying a game to learn how to bleed money and hemorrhage players is not why they bought it. They also didn’t buy it for any of the other hokey reasons in that ā€œAMAā€ of theirs.

For the IP maybe. But owning the IP in no way means they will not change the game completely. There’s a reason the previous investors bailed. And it’s not because they didn’t know what to do with all the money they were making.

Simplifying ownership of an IP can also allow for more difficult strategic decisions to be made.

I know, it’s far more edgy too steer up some controversy or proclaim the end is coming this days. Not like this is reason #87436 why EVE is dying. And as soon as it turns out that wasn’t the case you will all turn to the next and proclaim the same thing.

Not sure how YOUR common sense works, but mine tells me that they didn’t pay 400mil to push changes to a 15 year old game that works mostly and has a loyal fanbase in a obscure niche of the market. EVE isn’t that important of itself. It is however a good model how to make a game that runs successfully for 15 years, which is an extremely long time for every piece of software especially for a game.

The IP simply gives them access to one of the most iconic sicfy universes there are for any amount of future titles.

But yeah, if you can’t resist, give yourselves to the hope that PA will make EVE into carebear wonderland and the perfect 100% secure mining simulator or a heaven for credit card warriors. It’s not like this is the first time…

I think gigx is behind pearl abyss, he bought EVE so he can burn it to the ground. :smiling_imp:

They did pay 225 000 000 $, and maybe they’ll pay 200 000 000 $ more but only if CCP meet some financial goals in future.
Taking into account that they have paid 225 000 000 $ companies with 40 000 000 $ reserves in the bank means that they have so far paid only 185 000 000 $

Oh. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not obligated by any means. It’s just an old habit that’s stuck with me from back in the days of the Devils doing their recruiting through their victim pool. It depends on the attitude of who I’m dealing with. I would be hypocritical as hell to call myself an altruist, I’m out there for fights and ideally wins. Just sometimes someone catches my interest and starts asking the right questions, in those cases I tend to answer.

In agreement, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Learn from the way it works and exploit the IP in other ways.

Yes,the game will die as it has died for 15 years…

Why is it always so that if a change to a more mainstream approach for the game is discussed that is different from the course the game has sailed the last 15 years the game always will perish and on the other hand if a no.change is argumented the main opinion is that "we did it for 15 year now and eve is still living beside ā€œall those that said eve will dieā€?

So if it fits your opinion eve is strong and tough but if not the game is a snowflake in the sun?
A little bit too easy i think…

Why should a change to mainstream let the game melt like said snowflake beside the fact it has survived in the sun for 15 years now?

The game should be strong enough to stand a change to mainstream even if PVP players ragequit because they can’t kill in high anymore.
PVP in high is dispensable…

This is not what will kill eve…a standstill will…

Because that’s what usually happens when you take a niche product and make it more mainstream. It’s what happens when you remove the main reason people were using the product in the first place.

To quote the new player faq;

The essential core concept of EVE Online is that it is full time PvP in a sandbox
environment. As has been mentioned in previous sections any player can
engage another player at any time in any place. In high-sec space there
may be consequences if a pilot attacks another without just cause, but they
can still make that attack if they wish. In low-sec and null-sec, there are no
limitations to PvP at all.’

What you want is fundamentally not eve. Or to use the words above, essentially not eve. What you want is a different game.

So rather than taking away what makes eve what it is, why don’t you play something else?

Which brings me back to this. Why do you play eve?

EVE is mainstream for it’s particular niche, sandbox games. If you want mainstream PvE go play WoW.

Quit trying to selfishly change this game to suit your own personal tastes when in fact you should not join a PvP game if pixel death makes you so emotional.

Everything should be turned into a WoW clone. Including Tetris and Pacman. Because then they will make the same insane money. Someone hurry to the forums of those game publishers and tell them about this mainstream opportunity they are missing out on.
