Sorry if it says something about you and those types of players.

why’re ye replying to yerself?

ah it’s the pedophile thing. well, you writing that ā– ā– ā– ā–  tells us more about ya than ya can tell about us. maybe ya should be seeking some help so ya understand that this ain’t real life, because it seems real life got kind’a lost on ya.

You are in the wrong game.

EVE is a niche game, the reason it’s still around is BECAUSE it’s a niche game, not in spite of it. If it had been a generic run of the mill MMO it’d have withered like they all have and contrary to the doom sayers it’s doing fine.

Its niche is ā€œopen world pvp sandbox where you have to be prepared to thriveā€. People might not agree to that, not like it or not actively play that way but that is what EVE IS. So you better get used to it and adapt to it or… wallow in sorrow for years or just quit right away.

Nothing personal but the core concept of niche is that most people won’t like it but the ones that do will flock to it and stick to it, even more so because there’s simply no competition in that regard. Not liking it is FINE, it’s certainly not everyone’s cup of tea and that is the point.

Each new player who didn’t have beforehand info or had someone properly introduce them to EVE will go through the phase you’re going to, all of them. If they say they didn’t they’re either lying or alts.

I myself got chased into low sec, eons ago, by GHSC which by that time were still pretty much nobodies, they wardecced our corp and our CEO told us to go rat in low sec. That’s where I ran into Ander and friends, at first they wanted to ransom me but we got into a chat and eventually they let me go. Still due to the dec and me being clueless it got to the point where I decided this game, or rather a game, just wasn’t worth the stress and rage and I quit. I went back to my MMO of choice at that time (DAoC), a few months later it started to itch and I started to look into EVE again: planning, scheming, vowing my revenge, determined to do BETTER!

EVE is niche, it’s Marmite. You either hate it or love it, BEING niche most people hate it and as such it doesn’t get great reviews. That matters not because it’s not about those people, they never were interested in an open pvp sandbox, they just wanted a shiny spaceship game and that is not what EVE is. Which is, again, FINE.

So get used to it, adapt by thinking ahead and realising that the only thing you have to do to counter those ā€œissuesā€ you pointed out is by laughing at the clowns who’s only option in this game seems to be toying with newbies.

EVE is a meritocracy: sink or swim, fight or flight. Asking for that to change is not only selfish it’s also based on a lack of understanding of what EVE IS.

ye call people like ā€œmeā€ (whatever that means) ā€œworse than pedophilesā€ which means that you have actually zero empathy for anyone who is being exploited, harmed, hurt and abused. zero. makes it quite clear that ya actually have zero sense for pain at all and i wish for ya that someone teaches ya how actual physical pain feels like, so ya learn to be a decent human being instead of whatever it is you are.

it ain’t me who’s the worse scum around here. how about ya go out there and talk to real people, from which ya can’t hide behind a screen, telling them that ya think they’re worse then pedophiles. then please send me the pics of yer broken nose. i’d appreciate it.

There’s a list of failed projects that CCP most likely financed with the money they made of EvE. On top of that they still managed to get $40mil in their savings account before PA acquired the studio. And you still want to question the profitability/significance of EvE…?

EvE is very small game in very big market. And with steady decline in population and, especially in paying customers base it will become even smaller. Let’s say there is 200 000 paying customers, 15$ each, it’s $3 mil per month before expenses. It will take 150 months to get money back on clear income, given we don’t have further population decline and having all expenses ignored. After all expenses it will be 20 years easely. 20 years to get money back from investment to 15 years old game, you really believe someone in clear mind will do such thing?

PA don’t need EvE in it’s current state. It will change or it wil be put down.

I’m not interested in forum PvP, sorry.

No, let’s prove.

Where are you getting these figures from?

We don’t need facts and figures when we have feelings. Duh.

You make it sound like EvE is the only thing CCP has to offer a company like PA.

Then why are you posting on here…?

This is point of my discussion with Ramona McCandless, I’m pretty sure, PA got CCP for other things, not for EvE Online.

Forums for discussions, exchanging points of view, having good read and pleasant conversations,

But you aren’t providing any reasoning, youre just making up numbers to justify your position

Someone else done same research, this is nice.

If we look into this link, we found ā€œprofits of[$20.7 millionā€ for year 2016. Or $1.7 mil of profit per month.

Or freaking 264 months (22 years) for PA to just get money back.

You got it wrong once again. But my english is not good enough to explain you why.

btw this thread is really off topic now. Should we call ISD Buldath ?

If they already spent their money, why would they cancel something that earns them profits?
