PSA: Next expansion will turn low sec into null and high sec into low sec

panic

Dearest CCP, OP SUCCESS !

lord-of-the-rings-gothmog

Good times ahead, let’s see what they bring (once we get past the rollout of course, and the ensuing bug extermination, make sure you have enough skills in your queue, as usual :stuck_out_tongue: )

You mean like a blackout 2.0 ? Then it gets reversed, as it did, if the numbers are large enough. If the numbers are not large enough then, alas, it will be like the writing on the wall at Belshazzar’s feast.

Not to @Io_Koval in particular, just a general remark.

As we all should know, Niarja was something we did, here on TQ. In that respect, Niarja was not a mistake. And considering to give players the choice and some freedom to change the map a little bit is not a mistake either. Was the outcome of the Niarja invasion on TQ unexpected for ccp ? I guess so.

There is also a silver lining. During the (pre-recorded) Havoc stream on twitch last week, CCP Rattati, questioned about sec status changes, started freewheeling a bit, and mentioned that there was - in principle - no real reason to why players should not be able to change the status of Niarja again (start at Twitch). So there’s that, they are very aware of what it meant to the game, and maybe changeable sec status will gradually be incorporated, to a limited degree at some point ?

What it really sounds like its comong down to is people who think “D: oh no this game isnt safe anymore” and people who think “ oh sweet this game isnt safe anymore”

I figure if we all get a little cozier with the idea that it is okay to blow up, that safety is an illusion that does indeed make the game a lottle more boring, then this new system opens up a lot of opportunities.

Oh no! A chokepoint has become lowsec! Well somebody is going to have to drag it back into highsec if we want traders to move again. I am seeing ample opportunities for mercenary corporations, trade alliances and groups like the ones I wind up in who occassionally go on roams for sharts and gargles.

It supposedly reverts at some point automatically. What no one knows is how long that takes, or how pilots are supposed to be able to tell that a system is corrupted. The system does not apparently go low security in terms of apparent status, but does do so in terms of mechanics.

The question some of us are posing is what cost these “opportunities” will have on the economy, not so much individuals. A precise but important question perhaps?

And as every change CCP has ever made which made space MORE hostile, they will hemorrhage players.

Just like stupid little kids, they only learn when they get hurt and bleed. And even then, they are just as stupid not long after their kinetic lesson, doing more stupid stuff.

Do you know how economics work?

I’m betting no.

But you are a coward, sooo…

Why so salty? You just have to find other rocks to mine instead of the 24/7 moon ore.

Bye! o/

that is my concern here. Not so much high sec. I’d see corruption not go far beyond periphery systems next to low with easier access null. always iffy systems anyway. I knew players once done seeing empire started the run to outlaw again popping .5 runners. An appetizer as it were since they were planning on going to low sec again regardless.

Its what happens when/if the blobs get bored. If memory serves way back crews like pandemic legion showed up to dynamite fish for some low sec competition. KIng of low sec or something like that. They took the week off from null sec I guess. I was on the side of the argument that competition should have been more for the full-time residents of low sec personally.

What I mean is people think that CCP should not touch HS.

We had the trig invasion few years ago oh and look people adapted.

It’s an Evolving game things will change.

It’s not meant to be 100% safe.

Eve = Everyone Vs Everyone

I myself had a 4 year break.

Because I didnt sign up to play farmville and ISK generator where the only goal is to make number go up up up up

Don’t impose YOUR game onto ME.

Sir.

I think its brilliant, Lowsec has desperately needed change for years. Dynamic Security Status is a brilliant way to influence that change, and the fact it also impacts HS shakes up another section of space thats needed change for years.

More over, adding Pirate Factions to FW has been a thing players have been begging for for years, and truthfully in the future it would be really awesome if the Empires could have the inverse i.e. Get chucked to a FOB in say Venal and start taking space from the Guristas. Making the space there safer temporarily so folks could access NS stuff in the region in “safety”.

I think its awesome. Change is good…and for LS, LONG over due.

Wow nice way to misquote me. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

You left out a critical word in my post. Here ill quote the full text.

I don’t appreciate farmville people wanting to turn HS into a safe space. We need more danger and HAVOC Ha… get it? HAVOC?..

I love puns.

Who Ganked you?

Does it still hurt?

But not the ones that actually undock and play the game.

Most of the people who are scared of lowsec have never been there. Much of it is actually quite boring and un-eventful.

When the gifs come out it’s time to leave tbh.

Can’t reason with someone who supplements their stuff with gifs.

Nah…I’ve fixed your tripe by blocking it, as you clearly are not up to a discussion with adults.
