It’s the job of the pilot to make sure they are safe, if you need scouts or eyes then you get them. If you don’t have any, then you’re flying at your own risk.
This is a social game that requires you to be social and to figure out who you trust and who not to trust.
Typically you should be running at least 2 separate accounts, one to protect your indy character while you mine. You should be in intel channels and making sure you’re paying attention.
There is no space in eve that’s safe, safety is nothing but an illusion in this game and it should ALWAYS stay that way.

If you ever got locked down by an assault frigate, you’d be helpless and would just die. Your big bad ship can’t do a damn thing to frigates. Turret tracking is a thing, your drones get popped instantly.
