CCP is doing this right, population is shrinking, and prices are increasing. Excellent job.
Do you have the drone and shield skills?
Why have 20 cows for 200 litters of milk when you can have 5 cows able to deliver the same amount?
Concerning HISEC pirates âŚ
I agree with you, CCP needs to make a code change that anyone who is GREEN cannot be PVPâd. I read the replies to your post, and true to form it is only by the psychopathic BULLIES who get thier kicks making body counts and stealing gear for a living. Very good example is an 18 yr old beating up a 7 yr old to take his lunch money. The EVE concept that all players are enemies is pure paranoia, there are friendly players
Nah, 7-year-olds can bite.
You gotta get 'em before theyâre teething.
Youâre literally playing an open world PvP game where you consent to PvP upon undock
Not really. Some of the friendliest people Iâve met in EVE have tried to kill me
Please biomass kthx
I think CCP is scared of losing CODE players if CCP stops High Sec ganking.
Not true really. If ganking is stopped in High Sec, more players will be inclined to purchase and fit more expensive ships without the fear of losing those ships to a random gank. CCP will retain more players in High Sec who are able to build enough wealth and then move to Low Sec and Sleeper space. But because High Sec is so lawless, new players who come across CODE posts really donât even want to explore the game because they fear they will get ganked in a high end freighter on their way to Low or Sleeper space and then have to replace everything by purchasing PLEX, which most new players do not want to do.
Most new players want to mine, run missions and other High Sec events without being attacked by gankers who only view their own asset collection as being the savior of Eve Online.
Think about it, a player who spends $100 in getting to Low or Sleeper space never get there because they are destroyed by CODE and leave the game. Now if that same new player spends $100 to get to Low or Sleeper space gets to their destination and constantly spends $20 to $50 a month on PLEX for citadels and then like, word would spread again about how fun Eve Online really is instead of hearing the reports about CODE destroying their game play and that all Eve Online really turned out to be was a Space Invaders arcade they spent $100 on.
Every once and a while I take a cloaked tour of Low and Null and even Sleeper Space. In most instances the systems are empty, maybe one or two and at most up to 300. The reason? High Sec ganking. Like I stated before, High Sec ganking takes a very heavy toll on the players wanting to move to Low and Sleeper space and in most instances, High Sec.
With CODE and High Sec ganking eliminated, new players would be more likely to engage in microtransactions to boost their skill points to be able to put up a small citadel, a small citadel that would attract new players who would have more confidence in being able to mine for their ships and eventually access to Low and Sleeper space.
It would take some time, but the repopulation of High Sec in New Eden would create more microtransactions on daily basis without the ganking of CODE.
CODE and High Sector gankers continue to erode any chance of Eve Online rebuilding itâs High Sec population where there are at least 10 or more players in every High Sec solar system.
Because in the end, itâs not about CODE and James315, some defunct manifesto or even CODEâs slanderous appeals to CCP to remain relevant by ganking 100 trillion ISK worth of whatever, in the end itâs about the top dollar CCP is able to earn to continue to generate all type of content and to ensure Eve Online is around for another ten years.
What makes you think that risk-averse carebears will move to low/null/WH space instead of simply just mining in highsec even more?
If youâre flying a freighter into lowsec youâre already getting ganked in lowsec.
I know of exactly zero people who are competent enough to hold space but not get their stuff to a lowsec station. Also, especially in WH space, theyâll get clobbered and then we have the same problem. Will you campaign to remove PvP in wormholes too then?
19 years later, people still whining about high sec ganking have beat the horse down to itâs last atomâŚ
First off you are not a Dark Lord.
CODEâs relevance at saying âLook at the 100 trillion ISK in damages we have doneâ actually pushes people away from the game.
CCP needs to focus on new players who can populate as many High Sec systems as possible without the fear of being ganked at all. Instead of a few players, CODE in general, saying look at all I have destroyed that keeps people away, CCP needs to focus on the hundreds or thousands of new players saying âlook at me and what I have done to bring more players to the game.â
Granted destruction is part of the game, But when the destruction is so rampant and uncontrolled, especially in High Sec, you have one corporation saying "look at how many noobs I have destroyedâ which makes new players not even want to try the free game out.
Which is more important to CCP?
- 100 trillion ISK in ship kills
- 1,000 new players spending $25 a month to get to Low and Sleeper space?
Dark Lord, your comment is nothing more than a wish washed script that has been told over and over again to draw new gankers to CODE who do what?
Bring more destruction to High Sec and keeps new players from populating High Sec.
No, itâs about knocking High Sec ganking out, entirely, so that new bros and new chicks can populate High Sec, form super corporations, and then move to Low or Null.
High sec still has the highest population, despite ganking. Always has and always willâŚ
No. If CCP changes this, EVE is no longer EVE.
Wut. High sec has the most laws. Its just peeps get lax and get blapped. The frontline is everywhere boyo
Wut in the wut. This is just simply not true at all ROFL. High sec gankers are stopping people from going into low. Wut? Like what the actual quafe?
High sec gankers stay in high sec bruv. How they killing peeps in other parts of space?
ROFL. Yea ok. Say hi to BF and Wingspan for me mate Aiko ainât bashing citadels ROFL.
Uh. You realize the majority of high sec is absolutely safe right?
Hell, if you avoid major Cal parts and SoE hubs, you mostly golden LOL.
When I first came back, I literally mined for hours to build up some ships and never saw a single other player in high sec bruv.
Thatâs cause I know how to use F10 and zkills
Bro, that destruction drives the gameâs whole engine LOL.
You been to Oisio lately or
Uh. Thatâs not gonna happen. And smart people move to the blue donut and rat/abyss in literally perfect safety. Like 1000% safety LOL. And they doing it right meow.
Yep. Whatâs funny is ganking only came about to be more popular once CCP nerfed war decs and made low basically useless.
I donât necessarily disagree. At the same time though, to balance the lower risk, theyâd also need to reduce the reward for that same group as well.
Essentially, to get that level of complete safety, those characters while out in space would also need to be prevented from activating high slot modules, prevented from launching drones and be prevented from carrying any cargo.
So theyâd be able to fly around and when docked, carry out everything normally, but to face no risk in space would need to be balanced by no reward either.
Just give the risk averse a few systems in high sec where they canât be ganked, but also no materials or ISK can be imported into or exported from those systemsâŚ
Final Fantasy XIV is that way â>
/thread
No, just a shrug.
Why do you care what idiots say?
Thatâs the standard operating procedure on this forum, donât take it personal.
Not really a wonder. CCP takes years to do things - if they want to - so itâs no wonder you havenât seen any change to the plight of the carebears.
To not allow pirates to be banned⌠yea, that might work? I mean by all means, letâs not allow pirates to be banned.
Poor pirates
You want NPCâs to help players cheat? Whoa, now thatâs innovation.
Maybe theyâre so advanced that they donât kill pirates anymore? Maybe they value Life to the point where every life matters? I know it sounds crazy but for an advanced civilization it may be possible.
Constantly? Where do you live, on New Edenâs main trade route? What do you fly, Bling My Ship?
Yea! If I wanted to gank you I wouldnât care what you fly, Iâd be happy to lose a dreadnought to destroy your pod.
Because itâs allowed in this game.
I got a revolutionary solution for you: Donât Mine.
I support you in your disagreement, thatâs freedom of speech.
I should NOT have to wait 5 minutes to log into EVE after opening Steam, opening the client, opening the character window to THEN only be in the dock. With our technology I should be able to click once and find myself in a wormhole killing npcâs within 30 seconds.
I should also not have to browse the boring market for hours for deals on ammo and ships, the deals should be highlighted on the ticker - no, the seller should be automatically alerted of a potential buyer and the deal shouldnât involve clicking, it should just automatically buy what I want and need without me having to worry about it
Shouldnât even have to dock for a new ship, should be able to get a ship right after blowup.
I could go on like that all day.
Newsflash: ccp Ratati assured multiple times during fanfest, in his Living Universe presentation, that ganking is a Cruel&Fair aspect of HiSec and that gankers will not be targeted by changes to the game meant to address genuine griefing.
Getting attacked and killed in HiSec does not automatically equate to griefing. Of course, those who âwant to be left aloneâ consider any attack on them in HiSec as griefing. It is not, dear OP, because you consider it griefing that it is griefing.
I will stick around to see how ccp will be able to make the distinction between rookie griefing outside of the established list of rookie systems and normal ganking, and of course how players will try to abuse any new system they come up with.
For the rest, I like threads like these. They have a chance of bringing out the pirate in more players in HiSec. The danger element should always be present in New Eden. No sanctuaries except for the rookies for a very limited time and in a very limited number of places.
You have it all wrong. The red/green status is nothing to do with what others can do to youâŚit exists solely to prevent you from doing anything criminal.
As I am liable to attack any non-allied capsuleer at any momentâŚI am never on green. In fact Iâve gone from being someone who was scared to turn it to red, to being someone who fails to even see the point of green.
It doesnât make you personally any saferâŚnor should it.
