at this point i might as well quit eve especially with ccp attitude with ■■■■ small groups
Except that any other war, the ‘big groups’ will already need to have put these things into all of their structures, and should have a few dozen stockpiled for whenever they need them. This is going to be a one-time resource rush from the large groups, and after that… just part of the normal cost of doing business for everyone involved.
Because they can’t afford/defend their own?
Why do you think small groups should be entitled to a structure? Why is the thought of using someone elses or an npc station so abhorrent?
And for the sake of having skin in the game. It’s literally in the dev blog.
Turns out people are more engaged if you put their ■■■■ in danger.
Is about the only downside of this. But not as big a problem as say carrier ratting considering the isk comes from trade rather than a faucet.
Monuments need love
The problem with this statement is you are saying “Only the biggest group can have a structure”.
You aren’t putting a ‘you need this much effort, co-ordination & team work’ on it, you are putting a relative tag on it which straight up requires you to be the badest thing on the block, because it will always be profitable to target a structure in highsec now.
Your assumption is invalid, the corps that specialize in structure bashing already scout all of highsec…all of it…not half.
If your corp had any structures (it doesnt) I’d already know about it.
With a structure in space, even in high sec, the corp/players have already skin in the game, this just raises the bar highly for no reason. If you mean by engaged, that people should quit or at least quit industry, then yes you are correct. Some will adapt, most will not, and die then quit as happened when carebears died in highsec due to wardecs. As it is right now things are balanced. If you do not monitor your trash it goes low power then abandoned, then explodes. If you are unable to defend your trash, at some point it will die–this is balanced.
This is an entirely appropriate position to have since the counter to structure’s is wardecs, and that’s exactly what happened to wardecs.
You want wardecs to be nerfed such that only the biggest meanest people can do them? Then the balance for that is having structures means you have to be just as big and mean.
Any mismatch between these two mechanics means either structure spam or structure famine.
It’s really not that high.
Too high for you maybe.
I have an Athanor that I have never deployed because the rules keep changing. This one stopped me cold.
I dont know what to do with the thing, its worth less than the quantum core and almost less than what it costs to keep it full of fuel. I thought it would be fun, but watching what it entails to have one over the last few changes it looks like an absolutely idiotic idea.
If CCP would implement gravity I could drop the thing into the sun.
I seriously doubt that these corps do scout HS islands/pockets, such as Mili in Devoid. I might be wrong.
How to ■■■■ over the little guy. Nice job
Wardecs hadn’t been nerfed so only the biggest meanest people could do them.
You couldn’t wardec above your grade sure, or your structure would be blown up, but it wasn’t profitable to go around blowing up all the wardec corps just because.
In fact this even more nerfs wardeccing to only the biggest baddest wardec corps, because a smaller corp is going to get their structure blown up for profit now. So this isn’t just hurting smaller industry corps, it’s hurting smaller wardec corps as well.
I run one of these corps, we concentrate on mapping contiguous highsec regularly just because its easier to move loot to market, but we’re capable of mapping it all when we want to and do monitor some islands regularly.
To be honest, I’ve not done industry since last year, it grew boring, my structures have long been unachored and I’ve been on a break pretty much March of this year. This change does not directly affect me currently, but it does remove quite possibly, a viable option to generate isk to actually do what I enjoy doing, which is shooting things. For me it’s just one more reason to not come seriously consider maining eve again. It’s one of the few isk generating things that was not a complete and utter chore, unlike mining or ratting or PI or trading. Granted this is my opinion, but if you thought this removed or at the least extremely choked off a viable way that you enjoy playing the game for little benefit given the reason for CCP coming up with this change, you’d be up in arms too.
Well, I’d like to know what CCP think they are doing to one of the best online game ever played ?
The fact that the whole world is under Covid rules ATM and people are staying home because of it, anybody with half a brain wouldn’t try to F**K up a game when a recession is about to hit not only EVE Online but everybody’s money. Maybe CCP have enough Islands bought with the money people plough into the game.
If you guys at CCP keep this up thousands will leave and you will be left with NOTHING but memories.
llandudno
The null blocks…TTT…will benefit immensly from this. The CSM did their jobs well securing a perk for the null blocks.
Gates of systems that npc sell those cores are going to be turbo camped.
This is fundamentally the stupidest implementation of of CCP’s half-baked ideas I think I have ever heard of in my 17+ years in the game. What is the problem you are trying to solve? Structure spamming in Null? That could more effectively be solved by longer repair timers and cost associated for Null Sec structure drops without hurting small new players which you have effectively priced out of the game. LOL. I wouldn’t be surprised if a large alliance from Null Sec deciding to go all high sec and ring the cash register killing every High Sec small player/corp. I see CCP has wasted no time in starting the list of egregious errors for the month of September. Well done…
