POCOs are not small upwell structures. POCOs are not Upwell structures at all. CCP’s original presentation placed ‘Small’ as the deployables: depots, MTUs, etc.
I do not think we have enough information to really speculate about what the long term implications for gameplay and the economy are here. If you held a gun to my head and demanded I take a guess, I’d say they’ll probably be negligible.
OK, what percent of your structures are at risk between January 15, 2021 and July 15 2021 do you suppose?
I’m happy to play as long as you like.
That’s entirely false. Some changes have nothing to do with group size…blackout would be an example, trig invasion would be anotjher…metaliminal storms, another.
But I understand why you think that way…
For you and your alliance, I’m sure that’s true.
Welcome to 2020, where a “factual” statement is apparently not an honest one.
CCP you guys ganna make HS moon mining better so I can justify keeping my mining citadels?
Facts of what you are doing can be accurate, but that doesn’t mean the motivations that are publicly publishes are honest
Please don’t ask me to google the definition of fluctuate for you. This is literally what the definition is - to change.
Hasnt been for a while
Fluctuate (V) - rise and fall irregularly in number or amount…
Note “rise and fall.”
Thanks for playing
Wow, seriously, you just said that… feeeeeeerk… jeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
But you did address me. I was responding to your broad insult towards people in hisec.
TLDR: I’ve spent years doing industry everywhere, and hisec is where it is most practical.
fluctuate
verb [ I ]
US /ˈflʌk.tʃu.eɪt/ UK /ˈflʌk.tʃu.eɪt/
C2
to change, especially continuously and between one level or thing and another:
You’re claiming that the price will immediately drop - I agree with you.
That drop is part of normal market fluctuation, based on supply and demand, as I noted. And then the price will continue to change, up and down, as the market dictates.
My comment about fluctuation was specifically addressing a point someone made that this was anti-free market, which is not true.
Can you please stop being pedantic? I don’t have the patience for it today.
Good enough for me and not consistent with your original statement.
have a great day
she’s dead, Jim
By itself, the update wouldn’t sound bad.
It’s an additional upfront cost to onlining a structure, which is not an inherently bad thing.
I do take issue with its scale of implementation.
First came the Moon Mining changes, and the number of refineries anchored dropped significantly. Anyone that anchored them for the sole purpose of mining the richer variants of the belt ores that were available from moons until then had to weight the choice if the only moon goo they could now mine was more or less valuable in mining time, yield and market. A lot decided it wasn’t and they unanchored.
After Forsaken Fortress a lot of structures have been cleared from HiSec, so the issue of ‘Structure Spam’ in HiSec was not as prevalent as it was before.
Now, this.
I am honestly conflicted, because it does increase the stakes of holding a functional structure, especially in competition with other structure owners within the same system. But my enthusiasm is cut short by the realization of cost. This essentially doubles the upfront cost of medium and most large Upwells, without improving the rewards that are tied to such ownership.
This is intended to reduce the number of structures dropped as combat fodder? Maybe, as some pointed to the fact that it’ll lead to a stronger need for consideration which structures are actually worth anchoring or keeping anchored and which are not.
As many have voiced, this will impact HiSec structure owners foremost in its first weeks and months, because unlike the NullSov blocs, they rarely have the pull to field a full and proper defense fleet to face attackers 1:1 ( or anything close to that) when a war is started. Especially in more isolated and less populated regions. Once the structures in those areas are gone, they’re gone.
Long term, the fringes of HiSec and a lot of already deserted LoSec will become devoid of any structures not belonging to alliances or corporations with the member counts or wallets sufficient to maintain and dedicate either a full PvP complement or hire mercenaries on a whim.
If there was a gun to your head, “negligible” would likely get you shot, unless you were referring to the short term subscrpition loss
OK I understand the need to have more risk when it comes to citadels, but where is the added benefit of keeping what I have and not unachoring everything and using TTT services in Perimeter and Iyen-Oursta.
Allowing me to maintain what I have for another 800mill and making me a target doesn’t really incentivize me to keep / defend my citas for other people to come shoot.
Rather than fight it out or hire mercs I can save money by selling off the cita and switching to Perimeter or Iyen-Oursta for my production.
You are going to have to toss me a carrot if I am going to buy these cores and provide war decers / corp mates with a reason to attack / defend.
At this point it just feels like a hassle I do not want to deal with.
You might aswell say “we are not here to listen to players who gives our corporation money, because of whom we even exsist this long”, and “we are here to make hasty decisions, cause either way this game lasted for longer than we all thought”…
CCP is lazy, you don’t know how to balance things, and u’ve proven that… J Space got 0 love and you are still ruining the J space even more. Why don’t u make a banner on your loging screen, or do a promotional video that says " If you intend to play this game with your friends, don’t waste your time, you must be a part of alliance or coalition that has multiple thousands of player"
EVE ain’t sandbox if players can’t do what they want, and it certenly ain’t sandbox if you keep ruining the game…
Please sell it to Activision/blizzard, let us see another good game burn in oblivion of poor menagement decissions…
