Quantum Cores - Updates begin 8 September

it should also have no layer of defense (armor/shield)

As I understand,

Means that new structure or later on all structure will actually lose the reinforcement timers.

If no Quantum Core is installed, the structure will remain in the onlining vulnerable stage where the hull HP layer is exposed and the structure is vulnerable to destruction.

This.
It’s what the dev blog says.

No. Read CCP Rattati’s post again. Existing structures without a core just lose the 3 ā€œbasicā€ amenities.

News flash kid, existing and already anchored structures do NOT go through an onlining stage. Hope that helps.

Removable is not really an option as a single core could then be used to online multiple structures.

An option to offline it would be nice (an offline core not dropping as loot would be great).
An even better option would be to forget the idea that one is required to finishing anchoring and only have the option to install one if you want the refit/repair/tether.

Some thought about the cost would be nice as 165% added to the cost of a Raitaru Vs 33% added to the cost of a Sotiyo seems a little unfair to newbloods wanting to make a start in industry.

IT’s more than unfair, it’s taking the piss.

What numbers are you using for a Sotiyo? Material costs for a Sotiyo are a bit over 10B. The core doubles that.

I’m still confused. Say I have a structure up now, what will happen on the 12th of January? Will it’s shields and armor drop and services stop without a core? Or will it remain functional and just lose tether, ship and module repair and ship fitting services, but otherwise remain the same?

What if it is attacked and brought into a repair cycle, will it fully repair without a core installed?

This bit.

With today’s update you just pushing out every average hi-sec player.
So EVE is dead now because everything what you left to them is stupid PvE with no choice.
I’m personally quit only because of this and i’m not the only one.
So ā€œniceā€ work CCP.
Goodbye.

EVE Online, once a great game, now dead! Total disaster - killed by fake news media, and Chinese special interests! Very sad!

You can have it…and use it with a couple of 100 other players in the near future…

Here, have some chalk so that you get to draw a shape around your perpetual victimhood.
