If I got it right, they don’t need to be scanned and they will look like Data Sites on the map, right?
The Article you linked seems to be incorrect or at least different from my personal experience and a sentence from here (same wiki, different arictle).
“Ghost Sites can be found using the probe scanner, using probes. They shows up as cosmic signatures (type: Data sites), and occur in all categories of space (hi-sec, low-sec, null-sec and wormhole). EDIT: I checked the article you linked in detail and noticed that that sentence hasn’t been changed since 2013ish, I changed it myself now. It is now similar to the article I linked.
Forget Echelon! It is ganked even on Jita undock by destroyers. Just for lols. You dont have to go to any wormhole. Also it is a vary bad ship for anything beside flying around Jita 4-4 Station, where it is ganked.

Come to think of it, I think I’ve actually found them: they have the same icon as data sites but have the ghost site type, right?
If that’s the case, I wasn’t able to scan them. I’m using a Heron with t1 probes and launcher, t1 small gravity capacitors and 2 scan rangefinding arrays. All in all I should have 112 scan strength. I couldn’t go beyond 70%, even using cube formation and increasing overlap.
Guess I’ll have to keep a stash of SIster Probes in case I find one of those. I’d rather not keep them on my ship though, they would basically cost more than my entire fit.

Well, unless I give up on ghost sites (which I could, they aren’t that common), if I try to hack them with my Heron and they are as hard as Databank or Relics, well, I don’t think I’ll be able to do that.
