Fuu. One hears it as a more polite way of saying manure, I suppose because it comes from the organs. Words. What you lot call offal, those are guts.

Still interested in aquiring some of these to see if they’d be a viable addition to the Estate’s livestock. Sellers contact me.

Well, it’s not just us, it’s, you know, the actual meaning of the word.
You might be looking for ‘dung’. (But if you are, I have 2 questions for you: 1) Ugh, why are you looking for dung? and 2) you already said they drop it all over the place, why’s it so hard to find?
I know, I know, horrible humor.)

So, I did a little looking, and it looks like “offal” also includes byproducts of a “process” generally, including viscera (byproducts of slaughtering cattle). That could be taken to include animal byproducts, though I think that might be a slight misusage. Anyway, it seems to be refuse or waste material broadly, including rotting meat, so including dung in that (not specifically, but as part of the broad category of “offal”) doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch.
And it does seem to include a LOT of stuff that probably doesn’t get included in recipes very often. That’s probably a narrower and more specialized use of the term.

It strikes me as wholly appropriate that offal and awful are so near one another in pronunciation.

Are you kidding? You buy whole pygmy water buffalo, breaded, in 5-, 10-, and 20-piece boxes. They come with your choice of six different dipping sauces!

I belive the technical term for small burgers are “sliders”, i guess it’s because they are so small that they slide right down…
