The other reason just no time…
You are right, main reason is too little time working a bussy job and trying to train for some endurance sports. Still flying through the EVE solar systems as jet is just a little bit out of my desired style. I really want manual piloting to have a much bigger influence in anything you do, but especially in combat.

It wouldn’t matter if you had flight controls like a fighter pilot. Missiles always hit, and you can’t “dodge” neuts, ECM, webs, scrams, etc, no matter how much maneuvering you do…
