Re-named: I lost my Azbel with my entire life’s work in the 2 weeks between logging in

Is this gloating really a good basis to judge the implementation of this change, how it affected players, if it was “fair” or how this affects the future trust people put into statements from ccp? If you want to just gloat and not put constructive input in, please just go watch ppl crashing with their motorcycles. The gloating isn’t really helpfull to the debate.

If you liked or disliked the mechanic “asset safety” doesn’t really matter. It is the mechanic their implemented and told us about. And after years they suddenly change it and watch the impact unfold. If i had known this could happen or even guessed it, I would have had the stuff 5min away in the NPC station. This seems really arbitrary. Why are people who put stuff in an NPC-Station 100% safe and ppl who put them into an upwell structure lose 100%? 2 weeks ago both options were 100% safe.

@Jona Gravenstein
Well obviously. If they hadn’t put this into the EULA I could just sue them. Them protecting their ass doesn’t mean it’s any less foul.

No, but most people pointing and staring at your tears arent doing it because of how the change was implemented, more at the idea that what you were doing was some sort of useful use of your time. And now its gone, and you are having a tantrum.

Yeah well, unlike you I dont get any joy out of watching actual people get hurt in actual real life. vOv

Edit: Unless they are politicians

Dont be ridiculous

This thread is like a car crash, I know I shouldn’t look but I just can’t help myself.

Now you’re just being silly, I’m pretty sure that Icelandic law would say nope regardless of whether or not the EULA contained that “ass covering” boilerplate.

No gloating. Just telling you, that normal people like to watch other people get hurt. Especially in situations where the consequences are minor. Like losing some pixels in a video game.

First of all quit the drama.

Secondly, for me at least, it’s not about you. It’s about the fact that CCP seems to be bringing back EVE to its original premise, even if just a little bit, step by step.

It fills me with joy that “deal with it” and “HTFU” are back on the menu, especially in these times of SJW, soyboys and participation medals. That laziness and stupidity is being punished once again. I can’t WAIT to see what they’ll do next.

This, to me at least, is not about you or seeing you as a person being “wronged”. Don’t flatter yourself.

I don’t think the “original premise” ever was, that those who don’t look into the game for 2 weeks risk having all their progress removed. When exactly was that the premise?

And if that actually was the goal with this, why are there still plenty of ways to keep assets 100% safe? NPC, Stations, plex-vault, isk wallet, fueled structure, asset-safety-clicking.
I wouldn’t mind if only corner-cases were affected and others weren’t. Assets in eve are still 100% safe, you just have to put them into the correct spot and hope they don’t change it.

There you go, you know the premise.

“the risk of having your day ruined by other people is the cornerstone with which EVE was built” -CCP Solomon

Other people includes CCP.

That is the premise, deal with it or don’t.

Stop lying, it wasn’t two weeks. It was discussed, mentioned, been in the news, had Devs blogs and launcher info.

What you’re saying is “being killed in low sec is unfair, if you don’t blink for 20 seconds you’re dead”. “Handily” omitting the fact that you could have avoided it by preparing for it, putting in the effort to run Dscan, watch local etc etc etc.

You’re being disingenuous and dramatic and quite frankly I LOVE seeing people like that squirming and whining, I have no problem admitting to that.

Stop being a massive carebear. Accept your loss as you KNOW it’s down to your own laziness. HTFU.

Ufff.
again: it was not in the launcher when i logged in and i did not receive an ingame mail. I also did not receive an e-mail. Excuse me for not searching the forum each time i log in to see if i could lose all my assets if i don’t react to a change… holy…

Also: undocking ships risks dying in those ships. That has always been the case, is not news and has nothing to do with the topic. Also I used to be a rather active pvper… pls don’t randomly call ppl carebears without checking first.

Yes you like to watch ppl getting hurt. Good job.

Being a PvP player does not exclude you from being a carebear, just as being a PvE player doesn’t make you one.

Well thats a lie.

You might have blocked it, or had it in your spam folder, but you certainly got mailed out the monthly BS they mail out to all my accounts.

You literally admitted to it. Like literally. fml

I just double checked my emails. I have the following ones since the 21.03.2020:
“Gathering Storm and Lightning Strikes” 08.06.2020
“Invasion Chapter 3 Now Live” 28.05.2020
“Capsuleer Day Clash event” 07.05.2020
“Eve Portal - Jita PLEX Market” 07.05.2020
“Capsuleer Day Celebration gifts” 06.05.2020
“Capsuleer Generosity Celebration” 09.04.2020
“The Hunt begins again!” 06.04.2020
“Eclipse - Quadrant 2 starts 6 Apr” 02.04.2020
“Loyalty to Lowsec” 24.03.2020
"Friendship is the best ship 21.03.2020

I glimpsed over those and didn’t see anything about the change. Which one should have informed me?

None of these say “change to asset safety. Double check or lose everything” What did i miss?

eye roll

You are just going to go with “I dont need to read any patch notes”

There is literally no purpose to talking with you.

Well that’s the case. You don’t. Nobody does.

That’s because he doesn’t WANT to understand, or accept, or admit.

Yes I do

Oh wait, here we go with the semantics. The “need” right?

Ok yeah you got me there. Shouldve left that word out and not given you your free go.

I’m confused by this.

The zKillboard record shows that the Azbel’s only service module was the Research Lab and the screen grab of the eve-mails from DED shows that structure services were offlined on 11 May, which also caused the Azbel to enter low power.

If you logged in around 20 May to work on your research jobs in the Azbel, how could you have failed to notice that the Research Lab was offline and thus that the structure was out of fuel?

Sure, if you invent your own needs.

Expecting people to never take a break is just delusional. “You took a break and were not looking at patch every day, you are at fault”. That’s stupid.

I just checked and I did not receive a relevant mail from CCP either. I received a lot of other mails about events, so yes I almost always not even read them, but none about the incoming change to asset safety.

I have spent all morning consulting with some of the best International/Intergalactic space lawyers in the quadrant. It turns out that there is simply no precedent in Icelandic law regarding the loss of BPOs. We may have uncovered a potential loophole however - the authorities at Yulai failed to implement a similar contract on the New Eden side of the transaction. It may be possible to take legal action against Concord for their failure to provide adequate notice, since they appear to be the ones were tacitly responsible for asset safety, on the in-game side.

To OP: Your continued posting on this thread is not helping you. You are getting whiny again. Do I need to call @Nicolai_Serkanner back in here?
