Really? Again CCP? Invasion in SOE epic arc systems

How you get locked in a covops?

Again flagging posts you don’t like eh?

Childish…

Could be only ONE person in this whole thread that was it…

Simply stop it…

My post will simply re-opened by a mod as 95% - 99% of all other you tried to silence…

You dont get protected from PvE death in any MMO.

This is neither what i wrote or meant…

I mentioned griefing and ganking for a reason…

You act like puppy protection would be a new thing to mmog…

This thread is not about griefing or ganking.

Right…it’s about noobs and how they are treated…

I’m pretty topic in my eyes…

No reason to flag any of my posts…

Its specifically about PvE content and how it affects new players at a system where they are otherwise at normal risk levels from PvE.

The question is should the PvE content be removed from that system.

It is not about ganking or griefing or any other PvP content or activity.

  • Creates character
  • undocks from station
  • Invasion NPC outside station: welcome to EVE kiddo. shoots you in the face

Well if you cannot interpret “topic” on a small scale like this…

This would be madness and you would need a topic police to ban every then “non-topic post” as you define it…

Please ask ccp if you can become one…you have a lot of work to do…

it isnt, but different mmo types have different approach to this. Sandboxes tend to keep interference at minimum - dying is crucial part of learning curve.

Maybe…but the learning curve is too high the first month to be bothered with things like ganking and griefing also…this just scares away new players that otherwise maybe have stayed…and new players is what this game desperately needs…

That was true back in 2003 but it no longer works for 2019.

Check out this section of the presentation from 37:07 to 43:30

And they say that they need to increase social interaction between players to “fix” new player retention.
It has nothing to do with PvE being in the way - the topic of this thread.

Wow, you just completely bypassed the whole point, I’ll bet you just barely skimmed over the main context of that presentation. That section of the presentation explicitly states that the learning curve of Eve back in 2003 no longer works for 2019. I posted that in response to your statement:

Further on it states that the magic point in Eve is when a brand new player loses their first ship. That’s when they decide to stay or quit.

If that new player is in a social group that helps them to recoup and understand what happened, then that player is more likely to stay. If that new player isn’t in a social group and loses his first ship, then that player is more likely to leave.

All of that is connected to this thread topic. Brand new players (in the process of completing the NPE) are having their ships destroyed by overpowered NPC’s. They’ve just started playing and it’s very unlikely they’ve joined a social support group.

This proves that highsec is still too dangerous. To fix this, CCP should remove all PvE content from highsec, with exception of career agents (who are there just to teach you basics anyway). Isn’t it stupid that Guristas can sneak thousands of battleships everyday in Caldari higsec? If you want to fight Guristas, then you should go to Gurista space.

Heard this opinion so many times now…it still is wrong…

The OPPOSITE should be done and lvl5 should be brought to high only…the more content you have to play in high(beside beeing killed just for the killmail as many ganker do) the better for the game…

I don’t get why removing content from high should benefit a new player…those who actually WANT to be bothered with this whole low and null sec garbage will go there anyway and those that not want it should be protected from it…

I fail to see why this should be a problem…

Should Triglavian PvE ships be allowed to pop new players in Arnon Y/N?

Sure they are…

It may surprise you but I personally have no problem with the epic arc beeing invaded,my problem is about career agent and school systems beeing blocked by it.

But the arnon epic arc is the first step into the “real” world so yes is my choice…even if it surprises you…

In my eyes you shouldn’t be able to actually DO the lvl1 epic arc in the first month but that would maybe too much for some here…

Then why didnt you just say that instead of going off on one about PvP?

See, you can agree with me when you want.
