This is low-hanging fruit by a team that probably doesn’t know how to code in excel. Just because they’re doing “fun things” doesn’t mean other development has stalled.
The same goes for skins and new models. They are different skillsets to programming and testing.
Not a message suggestion per se, but how about investing in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocaloid so you don’t have to try and match a resigned/fired/deceased voice actors voice in the future?
Not for integration into the game, but for generating the speech recordings that are then used.
when does the juke box would be back? was really cool
So you are saying the audio team can’t develop essential features for EvE? Then fire them and hire adequate developers!
CCP can work on “fun stuff” again the moment they stop telling feature development is too costly in dev resources.
::cough::
All I’m saying is - If there is to be something added to the game, make it relevant to game play for the masses not just a minority of PVPers. (Use of apostrophe was incorrect. Object interchangeability initiated).
We’re all just game players. PVE, PVP…wth is the difference?
Shame MMORPG is so inaccurate in describing today’s Eve then isn’t it.
Massive - Used to be
Multiplayer - Sure, Alts Online pays the bills
Online - Is still accurate though for how long is unknown.
Role Playing - I suppose there is a minority who role play, so this “could” be accurate but certainly not a selling point.
For Eve to get back to its roots of being an MMORPG as you say - There would need to be significant changes made to how the game is played
1, Faction Warfare - Players can not participate in FW for any faction other than their own. So, no members of Gallente in Amarr, Caldari or Minmatar and so on - Ooops, FW just died - The ONLY aspect of Eve that could be classed as “Role Play” in today’s game - Has less to do with role play, than it does about making LP to grow an individuals wallet.
As a voice actor, which of your suggestions would YOU like to hear say every 30 seconds you are docked in a station, for as long as you play the game - what the next 5 maybe 10 years?
@CCP_Dopamine Please give us the option to mute only the hangar sound - really sucks having to mute the annoyingly loud hangar sound when docking then reenable when undocking to have the other sound that is under the same tag (is it ‘world sound’ or something?)
lol, great minds think alike
Baa. lowest of low priorities. Please add ability to shut off, when sitting in station, usually doing something else anyhow like watching vids or listening to music–would be nice to turn off station sounds completely without effecting active game play.
Always wanted to have difference sound for ships landing on grid out of warp… Fleet of frigate sounding like popcorn, fleet of super caps like a deep thunder storm rumble.
Whatever they do, add a crapload of it. We shouldn’t have to hear the same message twice in an hour except for undocking or something like that, etc.
TECHNICALLY… when you’re in the vacuum of space, there’s no sound since sound requires an atmosphere.
Eve space is not a vacuum…not even close when you look at the ship movements
- Players in player owned stations should have a variety of sounds that THEY can choose from for their stations. 2) In player stations, there should be a juke box feature that the owner / administrator can set to play music of their choice. Easy to do with several programs widely available, or have a pre-set selection. 3) As a source of revenue, the adds in the hanger view screens should be decided by the owner, and alliances or corps should be able to pay a fee to have their advertisement played for a specified period of time. Player owned stations should really be their own.
Thanks o7
We are submarines in the ether sea.
Amarr, but I thought EvE has some more important problems
i have two for ammar
first … Attention the slavers market begins in 1 hour on deck 1001 all free minmitar must evacuate this deck or be considered commodities for auction
second … a religious mind is a productive mind, rejoice in the truth of the ammar
but this is inside a station it doesn’t say it not pressurised
Great that you’ve started to work on this part of the game. Here are my lines for Caldari:
- Emergency! Emergency! Breach detected. I repeat: breach detected. Evacuate now!
- Please remember to repair and refit your modules before launch.
- Refueling completed. Battery disconnected. The socket was closed.
- All systems are online. Launch imminent.
- Please be informed that all lost sockets can be retrieved from the station manager.
- Please remember that your forcefield password should contain mixed characters. At least one capital letter, one small letter, one number and one special character. Do not use P@assword! as a password.
- Attention miners! A new moon belt has been fractured in the system.
- A new ship/pilot has docked.
You can use them whenever you want or use my suggestions:
1 Citadel under attack or near destruction.
3 and 5
4 Undocking
6 P@assword! should be spelled, it’s a pun (password shaming) on password requirements, we all should know that good password shouldbelongenoughandthisistheonlyrequirement
Event based 7 (every time) and 8 (every time when new pilot docks the station but no more than once per minute in congested stations like Jita or everywhere when docking occurs more than once per minute).
8 Also should have time based options for frequency in audio config as input field with number of minutes and/or additional options like always or never.
Don’t forget to make audio switch to disable these announcement for ppl who don’t want to hear them at all.
Amarr:
“Please declare your copies of Max Amarria at the customs when boarding the station”
“Please be informed that the maintenance department is legally allowed to refuse service if told to ‘polish rust’ by any pilot of a Minmatar vessel.”
Minmatar:
“This is a public service announcement, the station’s junkyard is not a place to seek replacement parts.”
“This is also a public service announcement, any pilot attempting to undock a ship not matching its design specifications can and will face a fine for endangering the lives of other members of traffic.”
Gallente:
[With as sultry of a voice as it can get] “Tough day out there among the stars, captain? I want to hear all about it, why won’t we meet at Ruby’s on Deck 38A”
“THE ONE, THE ONLY, THUK-KEBAB! HEAVENS GOING IN, HELLS GOING OUT!”
Please let us mute all in station audio without muting wormhole sounds!
