Remote Key shortcut Mapping - similar to MIDI mapping in DAWS

What if we could save Mapping SNAPSHOTS for each individual ship,

on a variety of USB MIDI controllers???

Like an AKAI MIDIMIX….

8 faders + 1 Master,

then each row has 3x pots and two buttons (the DAWS let you choose if you want to use these in latch mode or only press)

SNAPSHOT 1 on a RAVEN, each fader a launcher…. All 8 launchers separated….

pot 1 kind of AMMO….

pot 2 OH RATE…. (if it was possible…. lie only 10% OH, 100% OH… or 125%%???)

pot 3 MAX SPEED,

button 1 ACTIVATE AB/MWD OH or Mediums slots OH

button 2 Launch/recall drones…. (if they are out, it recalls them, no need to Shift-R)

or if you could set the first five buttons to each Drone, it would only command him…

I Imagine some wild rework of the Keyboard shortcut Editor that could work in something like a DAW Editor mode (Think about Ableton, Reason, or Cardinal, if you are into Linux VCV stuff…)

Using the keyboard on my Mac is a pity…. as was on windows… other system shortcuts,

different settings over-riding each other…. with Midi there would not be any of those problems…

I’d keep the Mouse and the Keys as they are now, but add this feature for those that would like to

improvise make some custom EVE Midi controller…

I Think it would be very cool….

Snapshots of course would be tailored for each ship…. or better, each FIT….

Covert Support Legion? Got it. Data, Scanning, Quick WH Blitzing…

Need to swap to Assault Legion?

Quick Snapshot select near the FITTING window and your Midi controller is now set to PVP mode…

Even now, I can’t make up my mind for a good Keyboard shortcuts Universal setting without causing accidental damage in all the worst possible times… enabling OH instead of firing up a Shield rep….

Basically before any run in WH or Abyss I need to Reset my Key settings everytime, bc I dont remember which was the last ship I used or if I changed the fit….

The trick to good keyboard shortcuts is to put infrequent but especially dangerous keybinds away from other keybinds.
