Yeah. Leave it alone. Passive SP gain is fine. We do not need a grind game and there is nothing wrong with doing one thing and putting sp into something else so you can swap later.
Some ideas are not worth sharing. “I’m just tossing the idea out there” is a terrible excuse and never something you want to read. Its one of the hallmark statements associated with bad ideas because it means you haven’t thought about why a system exists, what that system means, what your proposed changes will do to the game, and how your changes can be abused.
No you are right - There is no way to increase your SP by simply playing the game, aside from the odd event.
That is and always has been one of the best aspects of Eve.
Eve Does not have a “Pay to Win” model in any traditional way - A brand new player can purchase all the skills they need to fly a Titan, you can even buy enough plex to sell for isk to buy said Titan but that doesn’t mean you’ve “won” anything - It usually means you just purchased your way into a very expensive lossmail.
The game at this point is pretty much set in stone coded for time based SP training and nothing is going to change that.
I would like to see those +6 and +7 implants actually released in game. Also booster BPC (or even low grade BPO’s) in LP stores.
Make dailies permanent, but instead of random make them cumulative i.e. 10k for days 1-5, 25k for day 6, and 50k for day 7. Complete all 28 days in a row, hand out a mission giving 1m SP.
This proposal is missing the whole point of passive SP generation: keeping accounts subscribed. If SP generation is the result of in-game activity then there’s no reason to keep your subscription active if you aren’t currently playing. But with passive SP generation there’s a lot of pressure to keep paying your $15/month even if you’re taking a break so that when you come back your character will be stronger. It’s an essential mechanic for padding CCP’s active player numbers and keeping that revenue coming in.
