Remove suicide ganking from high sec

The ONLY people getting rich off this … is CCP shareholders.

The first was worth ganking with 90% drop and the second isn’t even a gank at all.

The event is almost over. There has definitely been a spike in criminal activity during this scary event. Don’t worry, things will be less frightening for you once the Halloween event wraps up.

The first Charon is worth the isk loss of a few destroyers, the second one looks like those alliances were at war and thus isn’t a gank…more like the freighter pilot being an idiot, just like if they were moving one in null or low sec without an escort.

Pretty sure the killboard shows ganks as ganks. It knows if guys are at war, it’s easy to pull war data.

Either way, I also saw one myself. So I’m unconvinced, then there are - and this is probably more to the point - all the noob ships and crap being killed for absolutely no reason. You can sit and watch the killboard update with those as well.

This was really my original point, I was merely using the bigger ships to illustrate it. It doesn’t seem to be about isk, but about griefing players - including the noobs who don’t know anything.

It is absurd to hear CCP talk about “improving the tutorial so new players are less inclined to leave” and then see something like this go on - unless there’s a different payoff for them of course.

I’m rather cynical about CCP motivations when you start replacing ships with real money.

I actually have no issue with killing more expensive stuff in empire… it’s the newb miners and such that are the issue.

When you run a corp, most of your job at the start is trying to get new players to keep playing. EvE isn’t conducive to a lot of people staying as it is.

You add this kind of crap to the mix and it just makes it impossible.

Thanks for demonstrating your hilarious ignorance of basic EVE concepts yet again. Red Frog is a hauling service, not a ganking group. They make lots of ISK hauling cargo through highsec in freighters, because unlike you they don’t suck at EVE.

Or you could stop being clueless and look at the killmail. The ships on that killmail were two T3 cruisers, an interceptor, and a triglavian logistics ship. This is clearly a legal attack, not a suicide gank.

it’s the newb miners and such that are the issue.

Then why are you talking about replacing ships with real money? Newbies don’t need to RMT because all their stuff is cheap and easily obtained through normal in-game means.

Yes, but they aren’t the only ones losing things, CCP wins from the whole server.

Are you denying people are replacing ships with real money now?

Your copes are never ending.

What’s your point? People have always RMTed when they suck at EVE and can’t win without getting out their credit cards. Plenty of people are winning at EVE and not needing to RMT new ships, and destruction is good for the EVE economy.

Your copes are never ending.

And your ignorance is amazing. I notice you’ve decided to ignore the fact that you were wrong about Red Frog and wrong about the killmail you posted and hope that if you don’t respond we’ll all just forget your mistakes. Just do whatever you need to do to convince yourself that this is an EVE problem, not a you suck at EVE problem.

I never even brought up red frog. How was I wrong about it?

Go look at their page. 7 day contracts “so we can have a chance at hauling your goods without losing them”

They are hurting too. What is your point?

That they can haul things still? They put a giant “MAYBE” on the front page of their website, not exactly a guarantee either.

Because you replied to my comment about Red Frog getting rich with “they are ganking empty freighters, that’s not getting rich” as if Red Frog is a ganking group.

And I see you’re now falling back on “BUT THEY MUST BE FAILING I CAN"T ACCEPT THAT HAULING I S POSSIBLE EVE IS BROKEN” and ignoring the fact that they continue to make enough ISK to stay in business.

I probably thought you meant something else, I wasn’t even aware we’d mentioned red frog specifically.

And my main point isn’t about them anyhow. They are the least concern to what I am talking about.

And going by redfrog’s website - they aren’t getting rich - you have to put up contracts for after the event. That is when they are going to deliver them.

You responded to a post of mine that explicitly said the words “Red Frog”. How are you that clueless?

They are the least concern to what I am talking about.

Of course they’re the “least concern”. You have to dismiss them as irrelevant because their success proves that you are wrong about the supposed impossibility of highsec freighter hauling. If you can’t keep them out of the discussion then you have to admit that you just suck at EVE and can’t do what successful players do.

My point was about new miners.

I brought up EMPTY FREIGHTERS because that just illustrates the point that this isn’t about isk.

There’s no point going into red frog at all. You haven’t made a point about new players. You haven’t been able to deny it’s not about isk. Because there’s a billion newb ships and empty shuttles on the killboard.

You’re trying to change the goal posts is all.

I don’t CARE what redfrog is doing. And when I look at what they are doing - it seems you are wrong anyhow. A 7 day contract and the event is over.

So you’re full of ■■■■ on multiple fronts. This is why I was confused about red frog - because it’s IRRELEVANT.

To quote you back at yourself.

“Simply because long term planning only gets you into more expensive ships that also cannot defend themselves, like freighters and exhumers.”
-You

Stop lying. You explicitly brought in advanced ships that have nothing to do with new players.

There’s no point going into red frog at all.

Of course there is. You claimed that “there is no defense” for freighters and that this “brings an end to most of the contract system”. Red Frog continues to prove that you are wrong, and that you just suck at EVE to succeed at the things Red Frog does.

Yes freighters because I saw one die.
But more to do with exhumers and mining.

Please tell us all how red frog are “defending freighters”.

I gotta say, there’s not a single quarter without at least one wannabe thinking he’s going to change the system.
“Revolution Rising” … hahahahaha, children these days.

Why don’t you ask them to help you learn how to play? I don’t particularly care how they do it, all that matters is that they’ve found a way and this proves you wrong.

But more to do with exhumers and mining.

Exhumers have nothing to do with newbies. And it’s even easier to defend an exhumer since you don’t have to go through gates in popular ganking systems to use them.

Maybe the fleet was already there and just waiting for something to shoot?

That’s already been answered. New miners need to learn how things work in eve just like every other new player. If a new miner doesn’t want to join one of the many corporations willing to accept and train new players, then they need to learn to survive on their own with no support system.

Read the 8 golden rules. Accept that you’re GOING to get popped sooner or later no matter what are you operate in because nowhere is safe. Hisec is safER, not SAFE. You can be attacked anywhere, and that’s a function, not a bug.

I’ve already outlined the basics of avoiding and surviving a gank earlier. If you can’t accept that you can be attacked in hisec, or are unwilling to learn the ways to survive or evade those attacks, then you(and others with your mindset) would likely be better off finding a game that’s more to your liking.

Lets face it, direct ISK profit is not the only reason for ganking. In fact for many gankers I am pretty sure the primary reason is the joy of griefing and for many others they just like to watch the explosion. For some its now just a habit like smoking and they hardly even do it consciously anymore. And then there is the simple idea that some people got ganked as practice runs or to relieve the boredom that came for lack of ISK dispensing targets.

And there are also optional reasons for even choosing ISK worthy targets besides simply profit. Ganking costs ISK and you will run out if there are no returns. Also, those who love griefing and watching things blow up use the ISK excuse to try and making their trolling look legit along with empty excuses of “adding content”.

If you are stuck on a binary its either 1) for profit or 2) for funsies then you are being lazy and not accepting all the possibilities or evidence. Empty frieghters do get ganked and for a variety of reasons, including, I suppose, mistakes.
