A hypocrite to the end…
I mean fare well in the game… Sorry, English isn’t my first language. Forgive my noob mistake
Still, I don’t have any animosity toward you or that other person or anyone.
I know that giving an opinion in a forum is like pulling teeth.
Opinions are fine…saying things like “Eve is P2W” and then not backing it up is either ignorance or trolling, both of which warrant the response you got.
I understand that, thanks for explaining to me.
I will keep with my opinion of the game until I myself realize otherwise, if that’s ok with you ?
I thought I was pretty civil ¯\(ツ)/¯
Do or don’t I really don’t care…
Always the gentleman…
I guess next time I will make a thread asking if I’m allowed to have an opinion ( flawed or otherwise ) about any aspect of the game before posting said opinion
Talk about Police State, tyranny and thought control… it’s alive and well in online forums
I get it, your feelings are hurt that you were put in your place after saying something stupid. Pick yourself-up and go do something else for now as clearly you just getting more and more butthurt.
Welcome to the Internet, where everything you say is open to response by others. You are posting in a discussion forum. You are actively inviting replies by doing so. You cannot legitimately complain when people call out the logical errors and factual inaccuracies in your posts as ‘I’m allowed to have my own opinion!’ - they are not depriving you of your opinion, or gagging you from expressing it, but like you, they have the freedom to respond in kind.
Not at all but if letting you believe that can make you happy then okay, I’m butthurt and you put me in my place… wow, smh. I guess that’s what they mean by “New Player Retention” More like New Player Repression
No, that’s not what’s being said here. I actually have an alpha alt account. I took it Omega for one month so my wife could get the refer-a-friend rewards. Its at 5 million skill points and thus alpha capped. I mine in the same Venture you so and I never get ganked. Most of this has to do with the player playing.
First of foremost, you’re on these forums… so you know about CODE. Set them orange in contacts. Do this to anyone or any corp that attacks you. This way you can see them in local.
Next, don’t mine near trading hubs, especially Jita. Gankers specifically patrol these areas looking for easy pickings. If gankers can’t find you, they can’t gank you.
Next, after finding your mining area, keep an eye on local. If known gankers are in the area, move on or…
Use D-scan to watch for ships that are used in ganking. Specific ships would be thrashers, catalysts, and thoraxes. If you see them on d-scan, align to station and pull in drones. As soon as they land on-grid, warp out. You’ll be gone before they can lock you.
The means to avoid being ganked are already there, you just need to use them.

I don’t understand the correlation but it doesn’t matter at this point.
My original post wasn’t about how to avoid gankers, it was merely how I see EVE as an individual person and player.
All the advice you give are good, of course, and I do all that already. I’m not complaining about mining or how players get blown up while mining, that only happened to me once since I started playing ( 1.5yr ) <— noob, and that was my fault, had I not been stupid I would’ve kept that ship but it was given to me anyway so no hurt there.
It has since been explained to me that unless I’m an Omega account all I’m playing is a demo version of the game so nothing EVE has to offer really matters to me and since I refuse to pay again, again, again and again for some pretty pixels on a screen I guess all there is left to do ( beside quitting but I won’t ) is log in and be a space tourist, test somethings in-game to satisfy my curiosity and see what I get away with doing and avoid the rest.
Let me say as an Omega account player, I think Eve has plenty to offer you. I do think you miss out a lot when you’re just an Alpha player; but, that’s your choice.
I will address one of your comments specifically though:
You’re not just paying for the pretty pixels. You’re paying for server maintenance. You’re paying for new content. Unlike WoW and other sub based games, you don’t have to buy the expansions for Eve Online… you just get them.
You are playing a game for free… a game that the developers and players have put a lot of time in to create. Frankly, I think its worth $15 a month. Seriously, a new game costs $50 on console. And how long does it take to complete a game these days… one, maybe 2 months.
And trust me when I say sub based games are less predatory than micro transaction models.
Good luck and fly safe.
I’ve played other games with a free to play/membership model like that. It’s an interesting way to play and depending on the game you can do a lot as long as you figure out the limitations of your ‘demo’ gameplay.
It becomes ridiculous when you start complaining about those self-imposed limitations though. Either pay to access the full game, don’t pay and accept the limitations or find another game. Don’t complain about how the free part is not sufficient for you while you refuse to ‘pay for space pixels’.
I won’t knock you or anyone for wanting to pay $15 a month for a game, I myself have paid for quite a few months to play another online game, with the difference that it wasn’t $15, not even close. I’m only a casual player and don’t take anything Gaming so seriously as to spend hundreds of $$$ a month and waste thousands of hours on a character, go as far as role-playing and get physically sick if digital things don’t turn out the way I wished they did…
This is how much EVE should cost in my opinion: $45 ONCE.
I know I know, it’s not profitable, sustainable, doesn’t make business sense and all that good stuff but it’s only my opinion, it has no consequence whatsoever.
PS: I could be talked into paying $60 ONCE but that’s as high as I would go.
Does it?
You are the one loudly proclaiming that this game isn’t for you. That is fine, but why is that notable or worth any of our time? Many people like Eve, and many more can’t stand it and stop playing. But most of those that decide Eve isn’t for them don’t decide their personal preference is worth a dozen posts. They just go away and play something they like.
So go do that. No one here cares that you are too poor or too cheap or prefer a single-player game they can’t lose in. That is like most gamers these days. Just go do what pleases you. There is no need to tell us how Eve made you upset or sad or whatever is motivating you to try to hijack this thread. Eve is what it is and you like what you like. The mismatch is uninteresting.
Stop posting in the forums of a game you have decided isn’t for you. Life is really too short. Go post in the forums of the game you do have a crush on. This will be more productive for everyone.
Have you tried going to a local shop and telling the cashier “This is what your product should cost: …”?
I’d like to know the look on their face.
(Also, did you know you can play EVE online for free as Omega clone if you’re willing to put in the time?)
Do you need any help to understand this? Please let me know if I need to explain it.
