Though Frostpacker hold a valid reference letter stating the truth about our skills and we may be the first and last students of the mighty Princess of highsec.
Well lets see, you got spanked 14 years ago then went full carebear , and for some unfathomal reason, think we care?
This game does not need podkilling npc to ‘add spice’ like said above…no pvp like spice needed for pve…people are doing pve only FOR A REASON,it’s an decision that should be respeted. CCP does the opposite…they show pve the finger and say ‘if you don’t want to do pvp as we want you to do we install npc that behave like gankers as punishment’…so better do pvp…because we say it…
This is what the message of trigs and fob npc really is all about.
Flipping pve off…
Bottom line…
Plays a PvP game, complains about PvP
Well lets see, u totaly miss the whole point of this thread, and for some unfathomal reason, still think ur smart?

still think ur smart?
Actually I am as have an IQ of 131 and have a PhD in Gankotherapy.

The game is PvP only, CCP is trying to make all the PvEers understand that without saying it. Everything in the game is PvP even the so-called PvE part are PvP because any player can drop on you and destroy you while you’re PvE-ing which makes PvE a lure, a trap, a joke.
Don’t fall in the trap. Play EvE as a PvP-only game. I don’t do anything “pve” in the game except I did some career agent missions, I don’t fit for PvE and my long or short-term plans do not consider PvE to be a viable means to an end. And frankly, I find it boring.
It’s rather simple really, either you log on to destroy or be destroyed or you’re only wasting your real time.
Which means that until you figure out how to destroy another player’s ship and actually do it, you’re not playing the game, you’re just wasting your time. That’s why I have moved to Lowsec and not doing anything much at all but wait for skills to be done training and move stuff, so I can start trashing all the ships I have so far against stronger and more experienced players.
Either I succeed to trash someone else’s ship within a year ( and I’m not talking ventures ) or I will simply play another game. No need to hit one’s head against the wall for a game that refuses to be played as it is advertised.

So you are training for a year and throwing away all your ships hoping to trash a ship bigger than a venture. And if you can’t trash a ship bigger than a venture in a year, the game is not as advertised and you quiting?

tbf, and if you’re somewhat open to advice, you’d be better off joining a lowsec (or at least a non-hisec - unless you’d be into ganking, which is fine too) group, and fleet up with them as often as you can. PvP doesn’t rely on skill levels, but rather on experience. Learning by example will be a lot more fun and more productive than “waiting” for magic to happen because of skill levels in the making.

you’d be better off joining a lowsec …group,
Sadly many who play mmo’s are solitary players. Speaking of Lowsec, it can actually be quite boring as everyone blue to each other, very few innocents to murder.

Yeah, can be like that. Although there are locations with more opportunity, thanks to the isogen distribution (never not gank a miner) near-exclusivity, and the valuable mykoserocin sites (if you know where they spawn approximately). At least it would get things going…

I’m always open to advice. I will group with others if the opportunities present themselves.

PvP doesn’t rely on skill levels
Of course it does. I’m not very well going to kill anything in a Velator and antimatter charges thrown by a 75mm gun.

but rather on experience
That’s why I’m leaving myself a year, to learn the game.

Learning by example will be a lot more fun and more productive
That indeed would be ideal. Plus, a fleet has more chances than one sole pilot.

“waiting” for magic to happen because of skill levels in the making.
I’m not waiting for “magic” to happen, I’m waiting to be able to fly a cruiser and all the PvP modules I fitted on it.
If I’m going to get my ships destroyed, I might as well have some fun so I decided to live in lowsec and attack, be the aggressor and, in effect, feeding ships to PvP until I destroy a player’s ship or move on to the next game.

Yes… except for the “game is not as advertised” part.
All good.
At least you’re in a good alliance that offers lots of opportunities to learn and pewpew.

Not really. I left that corporation. All their ops, HQ and roams are Amarr space. All the ships they provide and replace are amarrian ships with amarrian weapons. I didn’t set out to learn and operate amarrian ships or weapons but Gallente ships and weapons.
Also, I wasn’t contacted once about anything. Their only training program consists of subscribing to their YouTube channel.
Right now I’m in my corporation so I can benefit of the corp perks to reprocess all the junk the mission agents gave me and build more destroyers.
I’ve been waiting to be invited to corporations but the more I play the more I realize that if I want to be part of a corporation I will like I’m going to have to find it myself and not wait to be solicitated.
That’s odd, from the latest data they were active in 36 regions in the last week.
As we often say in the Rookie Help channel, finding the right spot for a player is one of the harder things in EvE Online. There are as many flavors and cultures as there are groups. Ask the right questions to your recruiter, see if there is not only a match with what they expect but also with what you expect.
And you’re right, of course. You’ll have to find it, it won’t come to you. Most spam invites are just … spam.
On a side note, I had the same experience in the very beginning. I was training into my racial ships (Amarr). The alliance I was in flew almost exclusively shield doctrines, anything but Amarr… I did a bit of cross-training to include at least decent shield tanking, and a few modest hulls (frig and cruiser). After a few months things went surprisingly better. Have your support skills at decent levels, the rest follows. It takes some planning, but with a shifting “meta” it’s part of the game. Fortunately it doesn’t take a lot of time to get started decently. Since you’ve probably trained into hybrid weapons, a jump to e.g., caldari (shield tanked) ships is already a lot easier, than when you have to x-train from say Amarrian ships to Caldari. Of course you could always “fly tackle”, as you’re not likely to even survive the time it takes to call for reps
As to training programs, they take a lot of effort to organize. Even large groups that have them, do not have them all the time. Starter outfits (most major alliances have them) that have recently been launched are more likely to have active training programs. Or you can talk to their recruiters and simply ask them about active training. Some groups are better than others, of course.

I hadn’t talked to a recruiter so now I will make sure to have a convo with one before I join.

Bigger is not better
My first solo kills were battleships with a frigate, in the days when it took forever to train battleships.
For solo start with frigates with something like a dramiel with dual props or a Daredevil. You need the option to control the fight and GTFO.
With regard to cruisers , the best for solo pvp is either the Loki whereby you can roam with impunity with a cloak, pick your fights, hold your prey at bay with 1 or 2 long range webs while you play with and kill your prey, or the legion where you appear from the shadows and suck your prey dry.

Bigger is not better
Very true epically now days. Frigs are cheaper, easier to pick your fights or run with and “learn” while you’re at it.
Have to admit, I did have the most fun when I could only fly cruisers.
