T1 frigates my AB! (and B doesn’t stand for burner)
Just got wacked by a swarm that all warp scrammed me! 
The data sites are masked as combat sites :o ?
haven’t been playing in the last couple hours so maybe it’s not an issue anymore, but yes, the sites in which you simply just warp in and scan the data cache, are marked as lvl III combat sites. Don’t ask me why 
Just glad I warped to one to check it out…instead of ignoring them thinking they’d be actual combat sites. Lots of folks up here have been playing for hours looking for data sites…
wow this event is really not NEW PLAYER FRIENDLY at all… even in High Sec you get wrecked within seconds. Good thing that i somewhat have a basic knowledge of the game and know what to prioritize target wise…
just so you know as soon as you warp in you get bombarded by 20 drones instant locking you throwing NEUT + scramble + webifier + target painter, there’s about 12 drones (sentinel) that will switch their focus from you to your drones within seconds and shred them to bits.
I thought i’d go check that event with a Dragoon T2 drones, nearly lost the ship within the first wave (damage control unit T2 saved my ass as i got into hull) my drones got in hull , warped out, repair , came back finished 1st wave , as i was taking out my salvager drone SECOND WAVE came in nearly died there aswell i had no more energy (6-8 NEUT) , my drones almost all dead… the drones dps is insane aswell way more higher than anything you’ve encountered in high sec it’s close to Level 3 / Level 4 security mission damage wise.
If you’re a new player or even a veteran 11that is not flying a T2 / T3 ship11 avoid this event…
Edit: After further investigation, you can’t even enter these sites with a T2 / T3 ship… way to go CCP \o/

Did you guys screw up Auto Targeters with the mini patch to fix the event?
They aren’t working properly anymore. In fact, they seem to not be working at all. They were, however, working when I did the first combat site in the morning…
Good thing this quadrant is not about the new players and that AIR was not introduced to them. Imagine if they thought they could do these sites using their T1 frigates.

The reward track for data hacking seems to be setup for the previous sites with multiple cans. You need to do 3 sites for 2 ticks on the track at the moment.
yep CCP really have no idea sometimes… this is as bad as Player Owned Customs Offices in high sec with “alts corp” of bigger corporation like GOON / PAPI player supporting them in case one of their alts gets his POCO wardec’d, so they can just jack up the tax up to 50-80% without a care in the world.
High Sec should be new player friendly and anything PI or other event related dealt with NPC corp instead. fix the god damn tax rate

In case folks need a fit for the event combat site, I’m having zero trouble with the following Kikimora fit. Goes for ~210 M ISK and needs a good bunch of skills new players don’t necessarily have so keep that in mind. Likely also possible to un-bling it a bit.
As an aside, would’ve preferred the event to be easier accessible for new players as other folks have mentioned before.

Imagine being the people who had to make the new skill and character sheets and having to watch what you had to know was going to be the reaction. Then picture those same people being told not to revert all the crap they just got forced to make but to instead whip up another event… That sort of thing leads to terrible morale and terrible morale leads to quality coding.
Quality comes in various flavors… This month I think so far has been liverwurst with peanut butter flavor.

So i was kinda hyped about the event and still are. The sites are fine as they are and duable in many ships without big bling. what i realy dont like is that additionaly mission chain with that collectable points
Well you dont get any of theese stuf into ur hangar. so basicly all you got are drugs u wont realy need nor use inside the event wich means they will just expire and the skins i was aiming at are NOT permanent skins… they are only 180 days ones and also will directly applied instead of a sell-able item.
that kinda sucks

ewww what a joke those rewards are , also the skins seems to only be for the Astero , Nestor , Stratios, if i’m not mistaken limited timed skins that cannot be resold… nice.
So basically this is a new player trap to make them lose their ships and quit the game.
Helps veterans get even more easy isks cause they can handle the overseer with their blings (Skybreaker) makes quick work out of these sites.

Site difficulty was mentioned. Seriously, did anyone actually test these sites? In a ship that isn’t the Polaris?
The sites - both combat and “data” - seem to be quite rare. I did manage to find 1 data site during an hour or so scanning trip. Considering that you currently need 3 sites to collect 10 points, scanning just doesn’t seem like a real option to do the event.
Neither do the combat sites. Also quite rare extremely difficult to solo, but if other people are also present then you have to deal with the boss challenge locking the progression. Only the last hit triggers (as usual) so someone can just snipe it the last moment and prevent you from completing the challenge.
And just to be clear, losing the loot isn’t my problem here. I will be stuck with that line of challenges for days, being unable to progress. Which is super annoying because I really like these SOE skins.
If only we were able to decline challenges once in every 4 hours, like with NPC missions. Losing 15 of the 25 points is better than not getting anything!
Isn’t that 180 the time you have to redeem the skin? The rewards from events have those kind of numbers, while the daily rewards expire much faster.

I think this system was implemented to stop people from getting several copies of, or downright farming rare event items, using free alpha accounts. There must be a better way to deal with the issue, but unfortunately we’re stuck with this for now.
I spent more than an hour scanning yesterday…only on the forum I found information that the scan does not work. This morning I saw that everything was fixed. I spent two hours, brought them to sell overseers personal effects for 135kk, they just took brokers fee from me, but I didn’t get my money.
