For new players here is my Algos for HS sites (didn’t tested it in LS sites yet). I used this with my alpha with good drone skills.

Tactic:
Burn away with overheated MWD (1 cycle is enough), with turned on (overheated) hardener. Manage your drones carefully. You have to call them back time to time, because the rouge drones will shoot them down. Switch from Hobs to Acolytes, then vice versa. Keep burning away from the warp in spot.
Prioratize your targets like
1, Webbers
2, Neuters
3, destroyers only after every frigates died.
Manage your shield booster. If you are not under heavy fire, reload it.
If you are in trouble, or/and your drones are badly damaged jump out to repair.
Rinse and repeat.
In the second pocket at the end of the second wave, prepare for the overseer. You will need fully loaded shield booster, at least 50-70% cap, and 5 Hobgoblin II. You can save some cap turning off the Hardener at the end of the second weave.
When the overseer jumps in focus on that, overheat your hardener/shield booster, and pray 
Just kidding you can easily kill the boss with this fitt if you take care of your cap, and shield booster ammo.
ofc completing a site would be slower than using a 200+ mill ship, but it’s fun, and not like clearing HS sites with a Vexor, when you just orbit and click to F every 10 seconds to switch target for your drones.
Average running time is 20 min.

Hi, can you please confirm that the Astero SKIN is not permanent but lasts only 180 days? That’s so disappointing if true

So … not clear … do the data sites appear as data? or combat? What level? III? IV? … are they in all of LS, including FW space … or only inb non-FW LS? Have been scanning a number of systems and still not finding anything
Was there a typical CCP bait and switch tactic of making the loot decent on the first day to draw people in and then nerfing it overnight?
Or it is just bad luck on the part of all the people telling me they making far less isk per site today?
The sites you need to scan did appear as combat sites yesterday, but once you finished the scanning their name was what you see in the challenge title/description.
Sites aren’t limited to LS, I did find some in HS. Unfortunately they seem to be quite rare.
Reactive armor hardener useless coz omni type incoming damage. Multispectrum energized membrane II x2 would be better.

I am flying around now for two days (HS and Low) and only found 1 data site to hack. How am I surposed to get the event reward when there are so little data sites compaired to combat sites. I do not like the combat sites btw.

Has anyone noticed and overabundance of pirate refuge sites since the event started?
That just because of the number of people running event sites instead of normal combat anoms.
i got the feeling that from hour to hour less sites spawn… im running in a circle since an hour in about 25 systems and only found 2 sites…

I thought to use that ship, but was not sure if he’ll survive the boss. BTW, Kikimora is overkill and is so boring for the event - one turret per npc. BTW, in low- or null-sec you can use some smartbombing fits also
I thought that since we are being told that these sites were designed to be run with T1 frigs and destroyers that maybe they actually were. No not really … well unless you want to drop 10’s of million in bling in a 2M hull to try to stay alive
