Forgive me if this was already asked, but what happens to Nullsec systems with low sec ore in it’s belts? For example, I live in 6NJ8-V in Venal, nullsec system - but due to it’s security rating all thats in the belts are lowsec and hisec ore. Does it all get replaced with nullsec ore after this patch or will the belts be void and empty?
Please. There were over 1500 posts at this time after the Blackout was posted, and it took them 3 months to walk that back. CCP ain’t gonna care.
This will encourage economic specialization and trade.
This is not a hard concept, and one CCP started the last blog with:
Abundance breeds Complacency and Scarcity breeds War
Predictable Inputs lead to Stagnant Outputs
Autarky is Anathema to Free Trade
At least give WH’s ice, even if it is random, WH’s can’t have sov and get fuel bonuses, so throw us a freakin’ bone ffs
I do Not want to jump all over New Eden, to mine/compress/ship/reprocess, just to build a ship!
This Will impact smaller corps and solo players, like myself, far more than large alliances, imo.
We seem to always be the collateral damage to these changes directed at wealthy veterans.
Reprocessing garbage loot will become a bigger part of my mining resource acquisition.
I’m sick of having to go clear across New Eden to get Isogen, for instance. When I’m in Caldari or Gallente space, I have to jump on those mining noms. If they become more scarce, I may just give up mining all together, and go exclusively PvE. Collect bounties, sell loot, and buy what I need.
Stop whining please. This isn’t permanent. they did say it was a phase, didn’t they? They’re trying to redistribute resources, not delete everything. They know more about game design than anyone here.
The problem with ‘scarcity breed war’ is… it doesn’t, unless there’s someplace more abundant to make war to claim, you know? If everywhere is a barren desert, taking someone else’s space doesn’t give you more water.
Hi I’m here to tell you that this is the dumbest update ever and I’m so happy I’ve unsubbed before this.
Plus: What you d take SOV in null with all its shenanigans for, if you cant live there without also “annexing” parts of LS and HS? Or have dedicated subgroups that do that? Holy ■■■■, I left HS because I wanted to be able to shoot back if I get pestered and now CCP tries to force me to play the clay-pidgeon in HS again if I wanna build basic T1-stuff?
I d understanding making certain minerals “rarish” in some areas. But making certain minerals ONLY accessable in areas dictating a certain playstyle is just ( im sorry, every other word d be an euphemism) idiotic. Man, if they needa do the “this mineral is not available at all in some areas” then make it a constellation-thing. Would give us null-groups some nice motivation for border skirmishes about “that trit fields in constellation XY” and quick wars cause one dude couldnt resist but to shoot that bluetral guy mining in that system we share with the neighbours. But “Hey, come to null, have capitals which are mostly built ouf of materials you can not get in null at all!” is max dumb.
tbh that would be a redundant change
So I don’t mine much but a lot fo my friends do, I understand redistribution but this is quite frankly a lie this is in fact removal and you guys seem intent on making people only mine in highsec bar moons, removing more targets for non-bloc warfare in null, less things to generate fights or kills.
You certainly seem to want to remove mining all together from wormholes, you promised making R4’s worth it so there was some mining in wormholes, instead of doing this, you removed more reason to even bother mining at all in wormholes. There is now barely any ore in wormhole space (2 types or which 1 is only used for t2 production) the moons only give moon ore which in wormholes is crappy R4 that isn’t worth the isk per hour for anyone whatsoever.
You say that you are breaking things to fix them and fix stuff ut so far, al we have witnessed is things being broken and ruined but with nothing fun or interesting coming out of the other side.
Why are you intent on making the industry more for highsec, there’s already enough industry in highsec…
Homie +1
Pretty horrible change. I hope before you implement this you realize how many people are already considering leaving the game (reference one big final war). Not real appetizing for the rest who were looking to stay with this change.
I could understand localized moon goo, or less minerals in a certain region. Full removal though… later dude
Dear CCP, I joined this game 12 years ago, because everything that happens is meant to do so by PLAYER activity. This following the TRIG non sense is breaking the game; you are INTERFERING far too much… If you think you are making the game more enjoyable for me, you are not !!! SADLY, I really do feel that EVE ONLINE is now in its declining years … ;[[ … and is NOT down to players, it on you !!!
You mean the war that’ll shut down because nobody’ll be able to build ships to fight it with? Heh.
The negative posters here clearly want tranquility to become like serenity which is f.u.b.a.r.
Increasing competition and demonopolizing is good for the economy.
This isn’t permanent. Can you people even read? It’s called a shortage PHASE.
I doubt the last part.
How so? Do you think large alliances are going to want to be dependent on trade? I think not. Economic specialization is hurt by this change as players have fewer specialization options.
As for CCP’s bromides, scarcity doesn’t breed war. What breed war is the balance between cost and benefit. Raising cost (which this clearly does) and decreasing reward, which is also does will do nothing other than promote more conservative gameplay. It will not increase war, it will decrease it.
What it will encourage is further abuse of existing faucets to offset the scarcity induced increase in isk costs…and it will also encourage plex buying for the same reason…
+1…
