I get that, but you gotta hook 'em somehow, offer a few tiers and make the customer feel like they are getting a deal. They will inevitably go for the best deal that can afford (and yes, that is my bane too)
So what do we need to do for the adults at CCP to relook this⌠burn and crash Jita for a few weeks or a month⌠see if all of nullsec wants to start blowing up everything in highsec?
It would never happen. It would kill PVP, PVE basically the entire concept of a âgameâ and lots of jobs.
You gave me a chance? How kind of you.
And when asked a question, you resorted to assertions. When pressed, you came back with a tautology.
Run along nowâŚ
Total destruction is a meme. What is needed is meaning and consequence of destruction.
Then maybe a major super fleet wipe wonât be a total non-event that barely gets double digit comments on the only news site still alive.
yeah, but wasnât there a mention of nerf of that as well? like more time to respawn AND less respawns? As well as less gas sites in higher level WHs, so itâs just a general nerf to them. Only thing that stays is exploration (where data sites still kinda suck after the boost, they are just not horrible but bad - the only ones that look good is the HS ones compared to HS relic sites) and ppl hunting those going for explo. Nothing else really.
we do
trust me on this one . . . we do
m
I guess weâll have to see how this work out⌠but itâs absolutely terrible IMO
Maybe the CSM does care about miners and industrialists, but itâs very clear that CCP does notâŚ
And besides one of your fellow CSM members has already confirmed that CCP didnât and doesnât listen to the CSM anyways.
Yes, i agree the new direction is about PvP and only PvP. In the past CCP has been a little more discrete about tilting the odds in the favor of PvPerâs, now, they are hitting you over the head with a mallet with it. Skill Bundles, it donât care if they are one purchase, anything that adds more than a cosmetic change to the game is âPay to Winâ
Lets see hereâŚ
- First there are the ADMs that help a group defend a space and force them to live in it.
- Then you put in Rorqualâs mining ability with excavator drones.
- Then you go for the cash grab with skill injectors.
This all results in everyone and their grandmother getting into capitals and New Eden getting littered with Citadels. Next:
- Olmeca Gold buys his way into the CSM by stealing drones and the Reddit Crybaby Bunch get all whiney because Super Capital Umbrellas are hard to deal with.
- Capitals get the nerf hammer applied along with cyno abilities and Rorqualâs become basically a docked up ornament in the ship hanger because of the reducing ores and resistance profiles.
Tell me if I am missing anythingâŚbut I get the feeling that someone in CCP needs lessons in long term planning for game developement.
If theyâre not loaded with booty, then whyâs he bitching about them not dying? Some dumbass has an orca full of crap. Who cares?
I am increasingly saddened to see the the Devs apparently care nothing about Industrialist by making unnatural and bizzare rearrangements of resources to drive nothing but destruction and combat.
It appears that my days of playing EVE are numbered after more than a decade of play.
Stupidity imo. These changes were unnecessary and only make it increasingly costly and harder for new players as well.
Iâm glad CCP has the courage to, instead of pampering the players by always giving them more of what they want, do the exact opposite and do what is better for the game as a whole.
Keep at it, CCP!
why does anyone kill miners to begin with?
Once again, high sec people get the shaft. Donât you realize that there are a large number of people that play this game that donât WANT to fight? We want to be able to hop on, mine for an hour and log off. We donât want to have to organize fleets to venture out to low and null sec just to get some minerals.
You gave a huge FU to high sec miners when you killed moon mining and now youâre just twisting the knife. I spent a lot of time AND real life money to skill inject and plex a second a third account just to mine high sec moons. Not to mention itâs what I like to spend my time doing. And I canât imagine how the people that spent billions of ISK buying and setting up moon mining stations that are no essentially worthless. And not a consideration was made to these folks. I agree that sometimes changes are necessary for the health of the game, but CCP used to care about its players when these changes were made. When LEarning skills were removed, we all got Unallocated SP as a replacement. This should have been possible for anyone with mining skills given these MASSIVE changes.
I understand the motivation of these changes. But other, more subtle, and less disruptive methods could have been used. Mining yields could have been reduced (with compensatory increases to mining yield in low, null, and WH systems (similarly to how Trig invasions have systemwide effects). High sec moons could have been adjusted so they produce smaller rocks.
TL;TR: Not everyone wants to play PvP EVE. Some people LIKE the carebear playstyle. Thereâs no need to ruin the game for a large portion of the playerbase. And if it HAS to be done, there should at least be consideration for those people who have invested into it.
CCP will continue to convert this to a war game and ignore everyone (customers and CSMâs included) until their RL revenue drops to a level that they realize they now have a money pit. At which point, they will either level the playing field or cut it loose
Wouldnât surprise me if all these mineral and industry nerfs are being done so that the new owners can start to sell ships and fittings for real moneyâŚjust sayinââŚ
It doesnât just drive destruction and combat. It is going to drive trade as well. Scarcity creates competition, but it also creates opportunities. The corps and players that adapt will profit from this. Null groups will have to rely on stronger trading and logistics networks, more trade agreements with others, more partnerships. None of that is bad for game health.
Posting in what will probably become the longest thread EVE forums have ever seen so far.
