Bingo Bravo… not the first to say it because it’s so darn obvious — I truly hope CCP finally “gets it” because it would go far to fix so many things.
i just came back a few months ago and am seriously thinking about unsubing again
Even lowsec too?
You think the deals struck with the likes of Snuff and PHEW for lowsec mining rights, more hazardous conditions than nulsec or hisec, and similar transportation costs as nulsec, will result in too much mining and deflation?
That would even require an increase in the number of people mining in lowsec.
Well, I must admit that I did read on /r/Eve that both of the current lowsec miners were happy with the proposal.
See, I know you didn’t watch the stream. If you had, you’d have seen Rattati and Goodfella basically tell players ‘if you don’t like it, quit. You’ll be back.’
time to unsub my 6 acc thanks for not caring
This is utter BS. The miners are the ones that will suffer and most will quit. Once again the changes CCP want to make are hurting the small corps and will do jack Sh*t to the large Blocks. Pretty soon the game will just be mission runners and ratters.
CCP, you have made me struggle to play the game the way I like to and ■■■■■■ me over again and again. I’m out. The day this goes into effect is the day I cancel all of my subs.
No, but lowsec minerals can be gotten in trig sec also, or by day tripping into low sec islands, or in null sec as well. It’s possible they will be the bottlenecks and trit won’t significantly change in value, I wouldn’t rule it out.
But they can be gotten several ways in acceptable volumes, especially if Nullsec smash through anoms for enough of them to build stuff they will end up with a significant glut of the really high end minerals from what I see using napkin maths.
Someone could check what an anoms contents look like vs standard production items and see what comes out as the biggest surplus if we ignore trit if they want.
Can CCP stop smoking weed and just got back to the way things were.
In order to build a capital ship now I have to mine in Highsec for 9 millions hours where i can’t use them.
Worst thing to happen in 2020, CCP’s stupid decisions, 2nd Covid-19.
Some people clearly need to be reminded about WHY these changes are needed, are good, and are beneficial to industrialists in the game.
-Scarcity drives profit. Whether it’s created artificially or occurs naturally, having access to something you can export for a profit that the other guy doesn’t means you’re gonna make money from it. Concerns about being completely locked out of certain mineral types are bogus because despite the ores yields getting overhauled and moved around, LS and NS STILL get access to ores with trit and pyrite in them, as well as access to scrap metal and module reprocessing. Hisec has always had ore shipped to it from deep null and lowsec, and that’s not going to change. If anything, it’s going to see a boon with how profitable it will be.
-Access is a commodity. The current system we have always used for determining how valuable the ore/ice you can get from an area has been based on its security status, with nullsec always getting the access to the best quality and quantity for ore. This is going away, and it’s GOOD that it’s going away, because it means that trade routes and systems with good access, either through jump freighters in k-space or statics in j-space, actually matter and are worth fighting over. You’ll actually see a lot more wars in these areas as the owners of the nullsec systems next to hisec get harassed by their enemies like a barking dog on the other side of the fence.
Highsec constellations that straddle nullsec directly will become EXTREMELY valuable. J-space real estate with multiple statics will go from desirable to treasured, as they offer random points of access across different points of new Eden. Corporations with the manpower (podpower?) to secure and manage them can use them as pipelines between their low/hisec or null/hisec routes. Needlejack filaments might see some good use again for roaming fleets, with the Prospect in particular potentially becoming as useful as the Hulk.
-Being successful in EVE is about profiting from ingenuity. Whether it’s pvp, pve, or strictly industry, pilots in this game are rewarded for learning the game and the particular niche they’re good at. Mining is a passive income for people so it’s safe, but it’s also necessary. Lowsec and nullsec are a lot less scary than people give it credit, and small ships can access them easily and securely if you know what to look for. Afk mining is bad. Bot mining is worse, and getting mad that you were punished for doing these by someone shooting you AND THEN DOING IT AGAIN is the worst.
The idea that you are entitled to anything in this game other than a free corvette and an alpha account is false, and needs to be discouraged at every turn . You get ahead in this game by working at it; by learning how to make isk in ways you enjoy, and studying it to learn how to best apply your time and effort.
-Mining is not your free lunch. It’s still going to be necessary and it’s still going to be safe to do, but people are going to have to treat it more like literally any other money-making activity in the game, and will have to work at it more if they want to do produce things with the ore they’re scooping up. You don’t like how it’s changed and want to leave? Leaving makes it more profitable for the people who remain, and are willing to adapt, because EVE always has, and will always, reward you for being bold.
All I read was, “CCP feels they need to sell more PLEX to make more money, so they will make things cost more money, and people will have to buy PLEX to get more money.”
Am I the only one in game long enough to remember the last time they tried this and how it failed utterly?
put more efforts on new game content and improve the game itself is far more important than these balance number changes. Hope CCP is doing something really useful at the same time.
I doubt that CCP hired some game designers who was fired by Blizzard few years ago.
You mean the 2013 redistribution that was nothing of the sort and was just giving everything to null, which this update is mostly reversing?
The only way this plan would work is if they reset the server. I think we can all agree that it will be a cold day in hell before the Eve O Community puts up with that.
No, the… I want to say 2004?, the first time they redistributed the mins.
Removed some off topic posts.
before you do something think! listen to what the players are saying! what are you doing!
I’m removing only off topic posts. That is more or less the only requirement to not have your post removed at the moment, outside basic rules.
